SYN: The Stooges become farmers as a last resort when every branch of the armed services turns them down as physical liabilities (and the fact that Curly has water on the knee). So the boys trade their car for a run down farm house and survey the grounds to find that no livestock exists, except for one ostrich (an ostrich that likes eating blasting powder). Later, the Stooges encounter three Japanese soldiers who have escaped from a local Relocation Center. The soldiers' flight is cut short, however, when the Stooges' ostrich (who had consumed gunpowder earlier) starts laying explosive eggs. Just as the Japs have our boys cornered in a barn, the pick up an egg deciding that at least they'll go out with a splat, end up going out with a bang. The egg explodes, sending the Japs flying in all directions and the Stooges are suddenly heroes for capturing several escapees.

Quick Hits:

- Did you know that Emmett Lynn (the farmer) made a career of playing grumpy, tobacco-chewing hayseed, usually in westerns?

- Curly does a very hilarious ostrich-feather fan dancer scene in this short. Probably one of his more overlooked, but great moments showing off his talented light feet.

WT: Fowled by a Fowl / FN: This Stooge comedy is blacklisted by some television stations because of its racial content.
