SYN:
The Stooges' Pip Boys tailor shop
is in trouble; if they don't pay their bills soon, the Skin and Flint
Finance Corporation will repossess needles, thread, and building.
Although Shemp fantasizes about capturing recent fugitive bank robber
Terry "Slippery Fingers" Hargen and collecting a huge reward,
the odds seem slim that three tailors will come across the likes of
such a notorious criminal. Hargen, in fact, has ducked into Pip Boys,
where he is forced to pose as a motionless dummy while the Stooges
remove his clothes for tailoring. He later returns for his coat, which
contains the combination to a safe he plans to crack. A colossal brawl
ensues in which the Stooges make expert use of their steam press and
irons. Just when Hargen figures he has Shemp licked when he hitches
Shemp to a revolving metal coatrack. But for every punch Hargen delivers,
Shemp revolves around at breakneck speed to deliver an unintentional
but devastating counter-punch. When Hargen finally hits the floor,
the boys recover enough cash from the unconcious Hargen's pocket to
pay Skin and Flint for a hundred tailor shops.

Pay very close attention to the storefront
windows in the beginning of this short. Larry's name is mispelled
with only one "r."

Due to a clerical error on the part
of a Columbia Pictures employee in the licensing department, this
short film somehow was overlooked at renewal time. As a result,
it became a part of the Public Domain along with "Disorder
in the Court," "Brideless Groom" and "Malice
in the Palace". Once a film is in Public Domain, anyone, anywhere
can use it for whatever purpose they see fit. Because of the error,
the 4 short films have been sold and re-sold using numerous packaging
ideas by numerous "Mom & Pop" video & DVD labels.
