SYN: An ailing millionaire, Mr. Winthrop, hires tree surgeons Howard, Fine and Howard to track down a mate for his persimmon tree so it will be able to bear fruit. The millionaire sends the boys to the isle of Rhum Boogie to complete their quest. Curly is appointed the cannibals' new chief. The old chief offers the Stooges a persimmon tree, and their freedom, providing one of them will marry his sister. (She takes liking to Curly right off the bat). Uninterested in the chief's ugly sister, the Stooges take flight with the tree. In the process, the boys lose the tree and it ends up in the throat of an Alligator. Well, guess what happens next! In an attempt to retrieve the tree Curly almost loses an arm, and Larry does lose the end of his shoe (luckily his toes weren't in it). Finally, the boys escape to the edge of the island and paddle off into the lagoon in their rapidly sinking canoe.

Quick Hits:

- Did you know that in the earlier office shots, Curly's sudden growth (caused by an injection of vitamin P.D.Q.) was accomplished by dressing him in longer trousers and raising him on a jack through the floor. When Curly tells Moe to "Beat me, Daddy, down to the floor" he was really paraphrasing the lyrics of a popular song - "Beat me, Daddy, eight to the bar."

FN: Idol gag was later reused in Hula La La (11/1/51).
