SYN:
This film utilizes an earlier
premise in which Mergatroyd the Magician blackmails the King into
granting him permission to marry his daughter, Alicia. The plan is
contingent on Mergatroyd making Alicia, who he has held captive, appear
magically by means of a trick box. If he succeeds in the trick, the
King is to grant him Alicia's hand in marriage, and he in turn gets
married into the royal family. The Stooges foil his efforts, however,
as instead of Alicia magically appearing in the box, the Stooges appear!
Alicia gets out of the dreaded marriage and Prince Gallant gets Alicia
as originally planned.

Did you know that Wanda Perry actually
doubled the role as Princess Alicia in the new footage in place
of Virginia Hunter?

Phil Van Zandt played in 13 different
Stooge films, plus several remakes. His specialty? you guessed it...scheming
royalty. Famous mostly for his roles as The Black Prince (Squareheads
of the Round Table) and as Mergatroyd the Magician (Fiddlers' Three
and Musty Musketeers).
SD:
1 (Date not listed) / FN: Uses stock
footage from Fiddlers' Three (5/6/48), with the exception of
a few new scenes. These scenes include the Stooges riding into Coleslawvania,
visiting their girlfriends, entangling in a sword fight with Mergatroyd,
and the closing reunion with Tilly, Lilly and Milly.
