Shemp, Larry, and Moe are furniture
movers hired to work in an old haunted castle. While they are lifting
a suit of armor, the crumpled old suit comes to life, asking the Stooges
to leave him alone. The Stooges, not being so understanding,
attempt to move the haunted armor anyway without much success. They
write off the fact that the armor speaking is nothing more than their
imaginations until they spend about 5 more minutes in the castle.
Apparently the whole joint is full of spooks and the Stooges don't
like it. It seems the ghost in the suit
of armor was the ghost of Sir Tom, a man beheaded for peeping at Lady
Godiva. He explains that now, after 1000 years of imprisonment, he
will meet the spirit of Lady Godiva herself and they will drift off
happily ever after on her horse. In the end, the Stooges watch out
the window of the castle as Sir Tom and Lady Godiva ride off into
the moonset and get beamed in the faces with pies. Obviously, a curse
for peeping on old Peeping Tom.
Did you know that this short was originally
billed to be titled "That's the Spirit"?
