SYN: Shemp's rich uncle Phineas Bowman (worth $6 million) is coming to stay with the Stooges for two weeks. The Stooges promise Mrs. Magruder, the landlady that with their uncle coming to town, they will catch up on all of their back rent. The Stooges get themselves in hot water however, when wife of wrestler Rocky Dugan (a neighbor), comes over to borrow some sugar. After filling her request, Shemp escorts her to the door and accidentally trips tearing her dress completely off. When Rocky Dugan shows up, things couldn't be much worse. The Stooges attempt to hide Mrs. Dugan in a trunk, but as always, their disguise is blown quickly and Rocky gets steamed. He demonstrates his strength by tearing a telephone book in half. Upon seeing his wife in a torn dress, he decides he is going to test his strength by tearing three Stooges in half. He is successfully making his point when uncle Phineas arrives and attempts to break up the fight. Instead, uncle Phineas gets pummeled along with the Stooges. That is, until Mrs. Magruder (Uncle Phineas' old sweetheart) shows up and knocks out Dugan with a vicious right hook. Uncle Phineas and Mrs. Magruder run along to be wed, and the Stooges are once again safely out of a Jam.

Quick Hits:

- Did you know that Kitty McHugh came from a show business family? Her brother Matt also appeared with the Stooges.

FN: The hiding the lady in a trunk gag is also used in Fifi Blows Her Top (4/10/58) and Laurel and Hardy's Blockheads (1938).
