SYN:
A salesman Fred Reardon attempts
to sell Fire Chief Kelly of the Midland Fire Department on the idea
of purchasing new motorized fire engines, replacing the stations old,
horse-drawn ones. Kelly being a man of content rejects the idea and
runs Reardon off. Reardon in an attempt to punish Kelly's stubborn
ways, sneaks into the fire station garage and plants dynamite in the
stack of an old fire engine. Little does he know, the chief's daughter,
Cricket is watching his every move. When she confronts him and threatens
to tell all, Reardon threatens right back and chases Cricket upstairs.
Reardon grabs Cricket and in a furious struggle both parties end up
getting knocked out cold. Meanwhile, a duck that had started eating
the spilled gunpowder from Reardons dynamite package works his way
into the room. He lays and explosive egg that blows up and sets the
firehouse ablaze. When the fire alarm sounds, Chief Kelly and the
Stooges dash off for another location, not realizing that their own
firehouse is up in smoke. Fortunately, the Stooges finally realize
that their own firehouse is lit up like a christmas tree and they
arrive in time to douse the fire, saving Reardon and Cricket from
harm.
