Rl. Dec. 4 / Prod. No. 4194 / 151/2 m / pd Jules White / st scr Felix Adler / ph Henry Freulich / e Edwin Bryant / a Charles Clague / C: Patricia Wright (Roberta), Victoria Horne (Lenore), and Reggie Dvorack (Carey, the Bird)

SYN: Larry, Shemp and two dames, Lenora and Roberta, steal a railroad car named Schmow, but are discovered by Moe, an ace detective for the Transylvania Railroad Company. The reason for the theft: Larry and Lenora can't get married until Shemp ties the knot with Roberta. It's a family tradition! Shemp is so drunk that he only cares for his imaginery giant canary, Carey. Without a doubt, the worst Stooge comedy in many peoples mind.

Quick Hits:

- Cuckoo on a Choo Choo was a wacky spoof on "A Streetcar Named Desire" which featured Marlon Brando. Larry Fine plays a great Marlon Brando copycat.

- Did you know that the giant Cuckoo (Canary) seen throughout the short is also a spoof on "Harvey" a Jimmy Stewart film released 2 years earlier?

WT: A Train Called Schmow PS: Larry Fine loved this film because of the Marlon Brando-type role he played. When he lived at the Motion Picture Country House, Larry sometimes screened his own print of this film for friends. During one such showing, Larry fell asleep as the film progressed (Larry wasn't the only one!).
