SYN:
As delivery men for the Star Pressing
Company, the Stooges are accidentally mistaken for reporters working
for the Star Press Daily News and get hired for a special case. They
are sent to cover the social event of a lifetime. Social beauty Mrs.
Van Bustle and Prince Shaam are getting hitched and the papers need
some dirt. The Stooges go undercover to try and get it. In order to
gain entry into the private wedding, the Stooges pose as footmen and
butlers, serving the guests with a wild array of entrees, including
their own version of "canapes" (Puppo dog bisquits covered
in green peas) and a walking turkey (brought to life by an unknown
parrot inside). Following dinner, however, the trio snap a picture
of the Prince, catching him in the act of robbing dear ol' Mrs. Van
Bustle's safe. For getting the picture, and exposing Prince Shaam's
corruptive ways, the Stooges' boss gives them a hundred dollar bonus
and Curly ends up with an added prize - the hand of Mrs. Van Bustle.

In the beginning of this short, the
butler tells Moe, Larry and Curly they remind him of the Three Stooges
- which they take as an insult. The Stooges actually refer to themselves
as the Three Stooges in another short film Booby Dupes (1945) to
avoid getting bombed by the U.S. Air Force when they are mistaken
for Japs.
FN:
Parrot
in turkey gag was reprised in G.I. Wanna Home (9/5/46) and Three Dark
Horses (10/16/52).
