SYN: In an opening segment very similar to Laurel and Hardy's Towed in a Hole, the Stooges are fish vendors working out of San Diego, CA. When their business begins to flounder (no pun intended), a Mexican real estate agent with a language barrier mistakenly sells them a beauty saloon instead of a beer saloon as they had requested. When the Stooges arrive south of the border to investigate their new purchase, they are disappointed but soon realize that there's money to be made in making homely dames look beautiful too! The first customers are four pretty ladies who need their hair dyed for a new stage revue that is playing in town. Larry, Moe and Curly find the job is simple...well almost. The girls emerge hairless, bruised, eyebrowless, and encased in cement. Pedro, the ladies manager is more than irate and threatens to fill the Stooges full of lead. A hasty escape is made as the angry and battered women grab pistols and begin shooting at the Stooges who are running aimlessly into the sunset in merry ol' mexico.

Quick Hits:

- You'll notice in this short that Curly makes reference to his "last wife", ironically, in real life Curly was married four times.

- Curly's wiggling ears were achieved through invisible threads (a gag Stan Laurel used many times).

WT: Beauty a la Mud FN: Several publications have eroneously published photographs of the three bald-headed women in this film as a scene from Loco Boy Makes Good.
