SYN:
The Stooge are fish salesmen down
on their luck when Curly comes up with the idea to buy their own boat,
catch their own fish and cut out the middle man. But it's an idea
that won't hold water when they set sail on their first fishing expedition
and sink the boat when Curly decides to go after their first fish
with an axe. Fortunately, the Stooges were smart enough to pull along
a spare boat just incase. When they realize the spare is without a
motor they decide to send out a distress signal. With a group of airplanes
passing overhead, Moe quickly manufactures a flag (a white sheet with
a red circular paint stain in the middle) on a pole and begin to wave it
wildly. One of the pilots, however, spots the Stooges concoction and
mistakes if for a Japanese flag and starts unloading bombs on the
Stooges.

Did you know that this is one of the
only shorts in which you actually hear one of the Stooges refer
to themselves as "The Stooges". Notice the ending when
the aircraft pilots start dropping bombs on the boat, you'll hear
Moe say "Hey it's us, it's the Stooges!"
FN:
A partial reworking of Laurel and Hardy's Towed in a Hole (12/31/32).
