SYN: Reminiscent of Laurel and Hardy's Music Box. The Stooges are three clumsy ice delivery men who are having a whale of a time trying to deliver ice up a lengthy flight of stairs. Thanks to Curly, they have a brainstorm to bring the icebox down to the ice, and disaster occurs when they stop about halfway up the stairs to take a breather and the icebox gets away. Mr. Lawrence, a nearby neighbor is flattened while trying to safely get home with his freshly baked birthday cake. The usual Stoogelike antics cause Mrs. Lawrence's cook and maid to quit right before her husband's big birthday bash. The Stooges, however, decide to make amends by helping Mrs. Lawrence out of a jam. They offer to help prepare for the big party, unaware that Mr. Lawrence is the same gent that they injured earlier with a runaway icebox. While in the process of cooking the main entree, Larry messes up the cake by deflating it with a pin. In an attempt to rectify the blunder, he re-inflates the cake with a gas hose from the oven. When poor ol' Mr. Lawrence blows out his candles, the cake explodes, plastering him and his guests with cake and frosting. He quickly remembers where he's seen these goofy characters and the chase begins. The Stooges end up making a quick getaway down the same steep concrete stairway that invited their disaster in the beginning of the short.

Quick Hits:

- Curly's dance, with a spring stuck to the seat of his pants, is a highlight, which was originally used in Hoi Polloi (1935). It was later repeated by Curly Joe DeRita in the Stooges feature film Have Rocket, Will Travel (1959).

- It has recently been discovered by Jim Pauley from Philadelphia that the famous stairs shown in the beginning and at the ending of this short are still in existence in Los Angeles today, some 60 years later.

FN: Partially reworked later as Listen, Judge (3/6/52). The sequence of carrying ice upstairs and tangling with a man was also used in Ice Cold Cocos (1926), with Billy Bevan, as directed by Del Lord.
