The STOOGEWORLD "Stooge Goofs" Page

The Stooges on the set with Dudley Dickerson

This stuff is intriguing to say the least if not less. I can't say that I've had a chance to go back and guage the accuracy of some of these accusations, but I can't wait to start researching it. This could shed a whole new light on the way I watch the Stooges. I think that some of the more obvious mistakes are what make the "Stooges" the "Stooges". I enjoy some of the cheesy cuts, slurred lines, improvisations, fake dummies, and stand-ins used in the stunts. Those kinds of classical gags are what made the shorts so hilarious. It allowed us to enjoy the shorts for what they truly were, a comical masterpiece!

I would personally like to take the time to give thanks to a fan named "Stooge", the creator of most of this list. (You'll notice he has given credit to Goofs that other people have submitted) To reach him, for questions or comments, e-mail to stooge60540@yahoo.com. Or just shoot him a message in the Message Board, he spends a lot of time there.

So the next time you're breaking out one of your favorite shorts, watch for these goofs. It's interesting to think that in something so off-the-wall and goofy as a Three Stooges short, you could actually find "Goof-ups" that shouldn't be there. I remember seeing some of these goofs and have a few of my own that I will add to the list. Feel free to do the same. Simply email 'Stooge', and we'll keep the list updated as necessary.

If you're into the Goofs thing, I've found several websites that are dedicated strictly to finding mistakes in movies. They've either gone unnoticed, or just simply go left alone due to deadlines, but nevertheless, it is interesting to look for them once you know they're there. Check out www.movie-mistakes.com, and their sister site www.tv-mistakes.com.

1934

WOMAN HATERS (1934): 1) Moe's jacket is buttoned in the part where the Stooges are fighting at the beginning, but in the next shot, his jacket is unbuttoned. 2) When Larry is singing to Marjorie White, in one part when he sings "And when I'm finished with my grooming", Marjorie White almost sings it along with him when she wasn't supposed to. 3) Right before the scene cuts to Curly doing his funny walk down the hallway, Marjorie White looks like she's about to say something (thanks to AJJ for this one). 4) Larry broke his finger when tumbling out of the berth with the other Stooges. 5) In the scene where Marjorie White is trying to hide Curly, she throws her hat up to the top berth, but it accidentally falls back down and she has to throw it up again. 6) When the camera pants over to Moe and Curly as old men, you can see as shadow of a mircrophone in the background. 7) At the end while Larry is singing "My life, my love, my all", you can see Moe elbow Curly to let him know that another hit is coming. 8) You can see a scar on Larry's nose throughout the whole short.

PUNCH DRUNKS (1934): 1) In the beginning when the camera zooms into Moe while he's talking, his hands are empty, but in the next shot, he has a fork in his hand. 2) You can hear the sound effect of one of the mugs punching Curly before it even happens. 3) When Moe and Curly are helping Larry out of the water, Larry's violin is floating on the water, but in the next shot, it's in his hand. 4) The man who fell off the back of the truck when Larry drove it off broke his arm. 5) When Larry has a radio on his head and crashes into the wall, the radio is placed on his head differently than it was in the previous shot. 6) At the end, we see various other scattered across the ring next to Killer, but no explanation of how they got there. 7) When Larry is running down a street, you can hear somebody yelling in the background (probably the director).

MEN IN BLACK (1934): 1) As the people are clearing out of the hallway as Moe and Larry rush them out, it cuts to the next shot, and all the people are gone suddenly. 2) When Moe gets off the horse, he accidentally kicks Larry in the back. 3) After the Stooges all say "My girl" at the same time, Larry looks at Moe, but in the next shot, he's looking at Curly. 4) When Dr. Graves is ordering the Stooges to go to room 81, Larry is standing still, right beside Graves, then in the next shot, he's already halfway outside the door. 5) When the janitor sees the Stooges rushing towards Dr. Graves' office, he kindly shatters the glass on the door to let the boys jump through. Moe and Larry jump through, but Curly instead begins to open the doorknob like his usual brainless self, then there is a sudden cut to the interior shot of the office and Curly is already inside the room. 6) When Moe sees the doctor's stethoscope, he says "Gimme that s...that thing there." It sounds like he almost said "stethoscope" but remembered that he was actually just supposed to refer to it as "that thing".

THREE LITTLE PIGSKINS (1934): 1) When Pete says to the lady, "Relax, we're all going to it", he has his hand on her shoulder, but in the next shot, his hand is to his side and he's facing away from her. 2) After Moe gets up from the floor after the passer-by punched him, something falls from his jacket. 3) When the passer-by says to Curly, "I haven't got a dime, it's the Depression with me," his lips don't move during the beginning of that line. 4) When Larry is supposed to say "okay" as Moe keeps barking him orders, he almost says "yeah" at first. 5) After Curly says, "No I shoveled it" to the lady, the lady is looking at him with a mean face, but she's smiling in the next shot. 6) A sudden cut to Moe saying, "Boy, did I pick myself a double order of skunk." 7) When the boys are spraying the girls with seltzer waters, Phyllis Crane just stands there and takes it, but then she realizes she's supposed to be laughing like the other girls. 8) When the girls are blindfolding the Stooges, Moe says "Wait a minute n..." then his line is cut off in the cut to the next shot. 9) When the bad guy punched Larry in the jaw, Larry chipped a tooth. 10) Before Moe gets punched out by Joe Stacks, we see Moe with a dazed look on his face as if Stacks did something to him prior to the punch, but we don't see it. 10) Curly broke his leg traveling down the dumbwatier. 11) After Curly and Larry tackle the referee, Larry says "How's that Moe?" but his lips aren't moving. 12) When the referee turns to Moe and asks "Oh, he did eh?" if you notice, Larry has his helmet off, but in the next shot, Larry's helmet is on. 13) A sloppy cut to Moe and Curly running with their arms together, with Larry behind them. 14) When the Stooges huddle by themselves, Moe is bent over with his feet on the ground, but when the camera shows a closer shot of the boys, Moe's knees are on the ground, then when it goes back to the original shot, Moe's feet are on the ground again. 15) After the aforementioned huddle, the boys get in position for the hike and the referee is standing behind them, but he's not anywhere near the boys in the next shot. 16) You can see strings in the back of the boys' pants when their being shot in the behind. 17) At the beginning of the football game when the Stooges are passing the ball to each other over and over, at one part, Larry throws the ball towards Curly and he's about to catch it, then the camera cuts to the next shot and the ball goes to Moe all of a sudden.

1935

HORSES COLLARS (1935): 1) When the Stooges are looking at the picture of the detective's wife, Curly has a pipe in his right hand, but in the next shot it's in his left hand. 2) How did the detective get a black eye? All Curly did was push him to the wall. 3) After Decker shoots two people who won't pay for their drinks, the bartender goes to a chalk board that says "Decker: 115 - Opponents: 0" then he erases the "5" in 115 and puts in a 7 making it 117. However, a while later in the film when the boys asks the bartender for drink, the camera shows the bartender and behind him, you'll notice on the chalkboard, the 117 is back to 115. 4) When Curly asks for the bottle, the bartender places the bottle next to Curly, but in the next shot it's next to Moe. 5) When the camera shows a close-up of Decker as the Stooges are dusting each other off, he is looking at the boys, but in the next shot, he's looking at Lobo. 6) When the Stooges bow down to Nell, Moe bops Curly on the head, then it suddenly cuts to Larry holding his face in disgust, and Moe looking at him with a mean look as if he hit him. One of the most obvious goofs ever in a Stooge short. 7) Curly and Moe are staring at the coin that Decker shot a hole through, then it cuts to the next shot and Curly and Moe are suddenly looking at Decker. 8) When Moe asks "Got a $5 gold piece?" Curly's shirt is unbuttoned, but it's buttoned in the next shot. 9) When Nelle is talking to the boys, she says "If you gentlemen don't get that I O U for me, I'll lose my ranch and..." then it cuts to Larry trying to comfort her and she it wiping her tears with a hanky, which she did not have in the shot before. 10) After Larry says, "Don't let 'em go to your head" to Curly, Moe looks at Larry, then in the next shot, he's suddenly looking at Decker. 11) You can see the strings holding Moe and Larry up when their being hung. 12) When the ropes that Larry and Moe are tied to break, in the background you can see Decker with a drum busted over his head, yet no explanation of how that happened. 13) After Decker says "Theives, huh?", you can hear an echo of that line (thanks to Benny for this one). 14) In between Curly's line "Did ya hear that tumbler click?" and Moe's response "Good work", there is a strange mute in the soundtrack. 15) When Moe says "Take it easy, Butterfingers" and pokes Curly in the eyes, it looks like he really pokes his fingers into Curly's eyes as opposed to poking his eyebrows like it's normally done, yet Curly showed no signs of pain. 16) When the Stooges are put up on the table to be hanged, the ropes hang off to the left of the scene. Then the camera shows Lobo looking over his right shoulder as he ties the ends of the ropes to the banister of the staircase which is to the right. Then we go back to the Stooges and the ropes are hanging off to the left. Then a little later when the camera shows a close-up of the banister breaking, it is again to the right.

POP GOES THE EASEL (1935): 1) After the man says "I wouldn't worry about it. Something must've been cut in between those two parts because the model was right behind the Stooges when the clay was thrown, and Curly didn't throw the clay toward the model...how'd it hit her? 11) After the Stooges, while dressed as women, run away from the detective, the camera shows a brief scene with Prof. Fuller speaking to a lady, and when it goes back to the Stooges, they have their original artist robes back on all of a sudden. 12) During the clay fight, a wet stain on the front of Curly's artist robe suddenly appears, but we never see anybody actually hit him there with clay. 13) When Curly comes from behind the curtains dressed up as a woman, the detective has a cigar in his mouth, but it's suddenly gone in the next shot. 14) After the Stooges run across the freshly painted floor to get away from the detective, they dash into a wardrobe but they don't leave any wet paint footprints on the floor.

He quickly pulls it up, but in the next scene where the Stooges bump into each other, it falls down again. 8) Was Larry supposed to fall flat on the floor like that when the boys were carrying in the barrel of scotch? 9) Near the end when the Stooges bring out their barrel of scotch, we see James C. Morton's character yelling and everybody trying to calm him, but we don't see what he's yelling about. 10) When the Stooges are talking to Mr. Martin at the counter, Moe bops Curly in the head during one part and after Curly runs his hand over his hat in anger, the top of his hat sticks straight up in this weird way. Moe notices this and almost starts laughing.

Likewise, there's a cut in the following scene where the other Italian gardener is yelling at Moe. After Moe says "The pieces are getting smaller, see?" the gardener says "Yes" then it suddenly cuts to him yelling he's going to call the police. 7) When the foreign gardners are complaining to the cops about the Stooges, the camera cuts over to the Stooges and they're over by the golf ball washer and they're helping Curly put back on his clothes, but they weren't by the golf ball washer in the previous shots, and Curly's clothes was already on. 8) When Curly cries "Hey, we lost a barrel!!" the truck is still driving. But in the next scene, we see a wider street with train tracks down the middle. 12) When the barrels are rolling down the hill, the cop directing traffic lifts his leg up before he falls over. This is because the barrels were being pulled by strings, and he was standing on a string.

Before there's any explanation of why Curly did that, it suddenly cuts to the next scene. 3) When Moe is helping Larry in the piano, the camera shows a brief close-up of Moe for some strange reason. In the close-up, Moe has a different look on his face than in the shots before and after. 5) When the piano starts to fall, Moe begins yelling but it's cut off in the cut to the next shot. Also, you can see the string the pulls the piano when it falls. 6) While Curly is trying to life the piano off of Moe, the camera shows a close-up of Mrs. Burlap's friend and in the background, you'll notice a man standing behind her with a looks of shock on his face, but in the shots before and after, the man isn't standing anywhere near the lady, and he's laughing. , you can see the stage hand that throws it.

After that, it cuts to the assistant director walking away from Moe as if he said something to her. 7) When Larry as the leading man says to Curly (as the leading lady) "I have come for you", Curly is looking at Larry and holds pliers up to Larry's nose as if he's going to do something with it, but it suddenly cuts to the next shot and Curly isn't holding pliers anymore. 8) After Moe says "Use your head" and kicks Curly in the rare end, Curly begins panting as if he's going to do something, but it cuts to the next scene before we see him do it. 9) After the Stooges lock themselves in the lion pit, they put their heads to the door to hear if anybody's coming and if you notice, Larry has his hat off, but in the next shot, not only is Larry's hat on, but he and Curly are standing in opposite places. 10) After Curly says "You can't fire him, he quit!" and Moe slaps him, Swinehardt turns around and you can see something fall out of his hat. 11) During the kissing technique scene, when one of the ladies is about to kiss Curly, she says "Oh, Mr. Howard!" But the Stooges were supposed to be under false identities at the movie studio, so we don't see how she knew Curly's real last name. 12) When Moe is telling Mr. Swinehardt about kisses, at first, Larry's standing next to Moe, then in the next shot, he's nowhere near Moe, then in the next shot, he's next to Moe again, and so on...

In the same scene, you can see Curly in the background beginning to get up from the floor, but in the next shot, he's laying down and he gets up again. 4) When Moe walks up to the donkey, you can hear Moe laughing but he's not even laughing. 5) Where'd that dog come from? We see the Stooges as bums by themselves, then it shows Vernon Dent in the restaurant, and when it goes back to the Stooges, they have a dog with them. 6) At the end of the scene with the Stooges begging Vernon Dent for food through the window, we see mashed potatoes splattered on the window, but no explanation of how it got there. 7) In the part where the Stooges try to catch the dog with the turkey but fall flat on the ground, if you look in the window above the Stooges, you can see a reflection of Vernon Dent who is standing off-screen just looking at the Stooges, but he was supposed to still be in the restaurant. 8) After the Stooges try to get the turkey from the dog but end up landing flat on their faces, it cuts to Vernon Dent yelling "Hey!" and there's a man behind him getting up from the floor yelling "Hey, what's the idea?" as if Dent pushed him, but we don't see it. 9) After Curly says _Soitenly, what do you think we_re here for?_ to the man, Larry opens his mouth to say something, but it cuts to the next shot before he speaks. 10) When the Stooges walk over to the troft, Moe puts his hand in the troft and accidentally gets water on his hand. [After re-looking at this entry, this is probably the number one Stooge short with the most bloopers in it]. 20) When Moe and Larry are awakened by Sgt. MacGillicuddy, they jump up, grab their rifles and shoot. Larry's rifle, however, doesn't fire. 21) During the loving cups scene, when Moe asks "Wait a minute, where's Larry?", his mouth isn't moving. 22) We see the Stooges cart in a buggy with 3 cannon shells on it, but they shoot and hit a tower, a house, a bridge, and the admiral's flagship. In the next shot, she's suddenly standing behind the Stooges and her hat is gone.

Also, his shoe wasn't supposed to fall off like that, but he made a good ad-lib ("What do you think I am a toe dancer?"). 11) When the Stooges are about to be thrown off the train, you can hear all of them yell, yet none of them are really yelling. 12) When the Stooges are riding on the bulls at the end, you can see a moving shadow in the bushes. 13) During the crab-eating scene, in real life, Moe had some difficulty in getting himself to eat the crab pieces (there's an explanation of why in Moe's autobiography). You can even tell by looking at his facial expressions during the scene that he didn't want to do it. 14) One of the times Larry is pulled down from the berth, they use a stunt double for him and it's obvious by the big part in the middle of the double's hair that he's not Larry. 15) Curly cut his mouth in real life while chewing on one of the crab pieces.

FALSE ALARMS (1936): 1) When Moe yells, "Must be a fire!" he has soap in his hair, but when he steps out of the shower, the soap is gone. 2) When Curly falls down the firepole, they use a stuntman. The stuntman lands on top of Moe and his hat falls off, but when Curly takes over the place of the stuntman in the next shot, his hat is still on, then it falls back off again. 3) When Moe splashes the captain's suit with water, his suit is all wet, but it's completely dry when the Stooges run up to him. 4) After Moe punches Larry in the stomach to wake him up, Larry chokes on his own breath for a second. 5) When Curly says, "The boithday cake!" his lips don't move. 6) When Moe and Larry arrive in the captain's car at the fire, Larry gets out of the car before Moe and asks Curly, "What's the matter?" In the next shot, Moe gets out of the car, and following him is Larry getting out of the car again!!! 7) When Moe is helping the fat lady out of the car ("Help me with this MIDGET, will ya?"), the fat lady accidentally kicks the lady behind her in the jaw. 8) When the people in the fire station run out of the place after the car crashes inside, the chief is amongst those people, but in the next shot, he's suddenly in the firetruck, yelling "That's my car!!" 9) After the Stooges push the captain's car off the sidewalk, they fall over, and you can see that they are in front of the Max Factor building, with the Remington Rand building just behind them. In that shot there is no truck parked near the sidewalk, however, when the captain's car drives into the truck, you can see just shortly afterwards that the truck is in front of the Rand building. Also the Stooges run forwards towards the truck to shut the car in, even though just previously, they were actually in front of the truck.

WHOOPS, I'M AN INDIAN! (1936): 1) A jump in the picture when Curly fires his rifle underwater. 2) When Pierre tries to open the door, his hand slips from the doorknob at first. 3) When the sherrif says "Three sets of footprints, maybe they're in the cabin," his lips aren't moving. 4) When the lantern falls and smashes on Pierre's head, he falls to the ground and his hat falls off, but his hat's back on in the next shot. 5) The Stooges are silent when they walk in the bar and say "How!" several times. 6) After Pierre forces Moe and Larry to dance, it cuts to Curly and when it goes back to other shot, Pierre is holding his face as if Moe or Larry hit him but we don't see it. 7) As the camera dissolves to the beginning of the wedding scene, we can see Curly at the end of saying something, but we don't hear what he's saying or see the beginning of it.

SLIPPERY SILKS (1936): 1) When the camera first shows Larry, he has four brushes in his mouth, but he only has two brushes in his mouth in the next shot. 2) When the Stooges see the cops headed towards their store, they all spread out and a wooden board on the floor flies up and hits Larry on the leg. 3) After the wooden plank hits Mr. Romani on the head, Larry is about to pick up the board, then in the next shot, he's already in the back putting the board away. 4) You can see a board in the seat of Curly's pants when Moe and Larry are pulling the roofing nails out of his butt. 5) After Larry knocks the Chinese Cabinet in the air, it cuts to Moe and Curly and Curly's holding his head as if he was hit by Moe, but we don't see it. 6) You can see a string on the paint bucket when Larry knocks it over. 7) A cut in the picture when Moe and Larry are tackled to the ground. 8) When the boys walk in their gown shop, they huddle, then walk up to the three ladies as if they're going to do or say something to them, and Larry takes his hat off, but in the next shot, the boys aren't doing anything to the girls and Larry's hat is back on. 9) After Moe grabs Curly away by the "hair" Curly walks away from Moe's grip and he looks like he's going to walk up to the ladies, but it cuts to the next scene before we see what happens. 10) When Moe asks the lady what's wrong with her dress, the lady is looking down, but in the next shot, she's looking at Moe. 11) You can see the stagehand that throws the cream-puff at Mrs. Morgan. 12) After Mr. Morgan yells "My cabinet!", he runs up to Moe and starts choking him. Then there's an abrupt cut to Moe and Larry stepping outside of the building. We don't see how Moe got away from Mr. Morgan. 13) When Larry says to Moe "Very artistic", his hands are in front of him and he's holding scissors, but in the next shot, his hands are suddenly behind him and Moe is now holding his pair of scissors.

GRIPS, GRUNTS AND GROANS (1937): 1) After the boys get up from the floor after ducking, Curly has a hard time standing back up. 2) When the stooges are being chased by railroad detectives, they round a corner and knock over a baby carriage. If you watch closely, you can see that doubles were used for that scene. A thin Curly gives it away. Larry's double runs funny too. (thanks to Larrysgirl for this one) 3) When the stunt doubles for the Stooges crash into and knock over a baby carriage, a big white box falls from the carriage, but in the next shot when the Stooges take over the place of the stuntmen, the box is gone. 4) When Moe and Larry were supposed to twist Curly's ears at the same time, Moe almost forgot. 5) The managers walk into the bar and find Bustoff drinking. One of them knocks the drink out of Bustoff's hand and Bustoff forgets what he's supposed to do. He stands up, looks around, freezes, and then the camera cuts and then he pummels the guy (thanks to Sean for this one). 6) After Curly laughs when Moe tickles his foot, it cuts to another shot and Curly's shoe is already on. 7) Curly says "I don't know how to wrestle! He'll kill me!" and Moe is standing a lot closer to Curly than he was in the previous shot. 8) When Curly steps on the outside of the wrestling ring, Moe puts a chair right next to Curly, but Curly knocks it over as he walks away. 9) After Ironhead drops Curly on the ring when Moe puts perfume on his face, Ironhead looks as if he's about to break character and laugh. 10) After Moe touches Curly's "muscle", it cuts to the next shot and Curly's shorts are suddenly on higher than they were in the previous shot. 11) After the Stooges get up from the floor after being splashed with water, Curly has a hard time keeping his shorts from falling down.

DIZZY DOCTORS (1937): 1) When Curly is slicing the bread, the first slice accidentally falls off the table. 2) After the Stooges wake up and run over to their wives, in the next scene, the Stooges' wives are standing in different positions. 3) A jump in the picture when the Stooges are overhearing the boss asking for salesmen. 4) When Larry begins wiping the cop's uniform, he has a worried look on his face, but he's smiling in the next shot. 5) When Vernon Dent's character yells "Police! Help!", he's standing to the left of the Stooges, but in the next shot, he's standing to the right of them. 6) When Curly is pulling out the patient's hair, it cuts to the next shot, and Curly's standing to the side all of a sudden and not doing anything. 7) When the boys are supposed to skid to a halt in a corridor, if you look closely at the floor before they do it, you'll see the black heel marks left by previous takes. The takes were probably not used because one of them slipped and fell, or perhaps actually ran into a supporting character (thanks to Jim Sullivan for this observation). 8) When Dr. Arms (Vernon Dent) and his two assistants fall over the stretcher, you can tell that the man playing Dr. Arms in that shot is a stuntman, he looks nothing like Vernon Dent, and that's not his voice, either. 9) When the boys run up to the elevator, Moe puts his hand on the elevator door as if he's going to open it, but in the next shot his hands are to his side and the door opens by itself. 10) When Moe says to Harry Arms "Hey, mister, polish your car with Brighto; makes old bodies new!", Larry is digging in his right pocket, then in the next shot, he's suddenly holding a bottle of Brighto in both of his hands. 11) When the Stooges dash out of Harry Arms' (played by Vernon Dent) office after he remembers them from earlier in the short, Arms yells to his two assistants "Those are the birds who wrecked my car! Get 'em, boys!", but that line was actually dubbed in by Jules White, the producer of this short, and he sounded nothing like Vernon Dent's real voice. 12) When the Stooges crash through their window at the end, watch the order as they run. First, when they begin running, Curly's first, followed by Moe and Larry. Then it shows a shot of a window and the boys still running, and Moe is suddenly first now. Then the camera cuts over to the inside of the house, and we see Larry jumping into the window first!

3 DUMB CLUCKS (1937): 1) When Moe is reading the letter, he says "off that old oil land," but "old" isn't in the letter. 2) You can see a pipe in Moe's sleeve that's connected to the oiler where the oil comes out of. 3) When Moe and Larry throw Curly through the wall, they use a dummy. However, for some dumb reason, the dummy has a head full of hair! 4) Right before Curly whacks the gate with the mallet, you can already see the gate already slightly crack open. 5) When Curly was thrown down the elevator shaft, he accidentally sliced his head open on a 2X4 plant that was left in the shaft. He was hospitilized, and after recovering, a patch of hair (!) was applied over Curly's wound so we wouldn't see it. However, we can clearly see the patch of hair when Curly is in the hatshop, and when Curly is running down the stairs and keeps barking at the guard. 6) After Moe hits Curly on the head with a chisel, the camera shows a close-up of Curly holding his head in pain, then his eyes light up for some reason, then it cuts to the next shot and Moe says "Yeah!" to Curly as if Curly said something.

BACK TO THE WOODS (1937): 1) When the judge slams his gavel, the top accidentally breaks and flies off. 2) At the end of the courtroom scene, Larry turns to say something to the judge, but the scene fades out before he speaks. 3) When Larry slams his rifle on the ground along with Moe, it was supposed to hit Curly's foot but it missed. 4) When Moe, Larry and Curly take off their hats and bow to Faith, Hope and Charity, only Moe and Curly bump heads, but Larry acts like he was hit too (thanks to Larrysgirl for this one). 5) When Curly is dancing, his shoe accidentally falls off. 6) Moe's hat keeps falling off when the boys are doing their "about face" routine, and it falls off again when the boys are backing out of the door, chanting "A-Hunting We Will Go-eth." 7) When Curly drops his rifle down and shoots down a turkey, the rifle doesn't really hit Larry's foot (Larrysgirl). 8) When the stooges are using a tree branch to throw objects at the indians, Moe says to Curly about an object he (curly) brought over "Ahha, 'tis a hornet's nest', but his lips don't move (Larrysgirl). 9) When Moe and Curly club the indians who are dancing around the tree to which Larry is bound, some of the indians land at Larry's feet, but in the next scene, they've been moved to the side. (Larrygirl). 10) When Curly throws the bucket at the Indians, the bottom of the bucket falls out when it hits the ground. 11) The Stooges only dump hot coal down the pants of three Indians, yet there are five Indians soaking in the water afterwards. 12) After the camera shows the Indians in the lake, the camera cuts back to the Stooges and Curly is holding his face as if he was hit, but we don't see it. 13) When Moe hands the governor the credential which says "Giveth them the works", Moe takes a peek at it himself. So if he knew what the letter said, why did he smile at Larry and Curly afterwards as if he knew nothing was wrong? 14) In the canoe scene reused from WHOOPS I'M AN INDIAN, Moe's original line to Curly, "C'mon, hurry up!" is redubbed in this version as "Make- eth haste, quincehead!", but you can see that the new line doesn't match his original lip movements correctly.

GOOFS AND SADDLES (1937): 1) When Curly says, "I wonder if this is the place," the following gun shot takes place too early, making it hard to hear Curly say "place" 2) You can see the string that pulls the mud out of Moe's ear. 3) After Curly turns his hat and pants heavily, he begins to walk away, but in the next shot, he's still standing right where he was. 4) When the bullets fall into the meat grinder, there's a lot of meat coming out of the grinder, but all the meat is suddenly gone in the next shot when the bullets start firing out of the grinder. 5) During the card game, Curly and Moe pass their two aces to each other. However, after the first exchange, Moe opens his hand and discovers he has only two aces: the ace of spades and the ace of clubs. Curly opens his hand and discovers that he also only has two aces: the ace of spades and the ace of clubs!

CASH AND CARRY (1937): 1) Curly's lips don't move when he says, "It attacked me". 2) A cut to Moe saying, "C'mon, General, we got bankin' to do!" 3) When Curly sees the "x" on the pillar, there's a whole bunch of cobwebs on Curly's head . They're all gone in the next shot. 4) When Curly was supposed to hit Moe on back of the head with the shovel handle, he missed at first. 5) Before the boys start digging into the dirt with their hands, you can see the wall behind curly is spattered with dirt. when larry and moe start digging, they begin throwing dirt into curley's face, spattering the wall behind him. thus, it looks like they already practiced the scene before and didn't clean off the wall. [Compliments Christine Pellett] 6) When the cop yells "Get 'em out!" after the Stooges drop the bags on his foot, it looks like Curly mouths the same line.

PLAYING THE PONIES (1937): 1) Curly casts his fishing line in the water then he puts one hand above the reel and one hand below the reel, but in the next shot, both hands are above the reel. 2) The man asks the newsboy for the paper then he looks at it, and in the next shot, the man has his hand on his chin all of a sudden. 3) When Curly takes a seat and begins to eat his "filet of soul" meal, Moe and Larry look at him, but they're looking at the two customers in the next shot. 3) After the swinging door hits Moe on the face, Moe gets up from the floor and has tears rolling down his eyes as if he was really hurt. 4) All of Larry's yells when he has the rake caught up his behind is dubbed in. Listen carefully and you can hear Larry's real yells under the dubbed soundtrack. 5) When one customer is downing a whole pitcher of water after eating too many pepperinos, you can see the hose that the water drains into below his elbow. 6) When Moe yells to Larry "You're goin' the wrong way! Turn 'er around, chucklehead!", he and Curly are looking to the right, but in the next shot, they are looking to the left suddenly.

THE SITTER DOWNERS (1937): 1) When the boys first give the flowers to their girls they are in this order, from front to back: Moe, Larry, Curly. Then the scene cuts to the little dog giving his girlfriend a rose in the doghouse. When the scene returns to the Stooges, they've magically changed positions to Larry, Curly and Moe from front to back! Sounds like we missed a "Switch! Hut, hut, hut!" routine. [thanks to AJJ for this one]. 2) A cut in the film when the dog gives a flower to his girlfriend. 3) Moe almost cracks up when Curly is waving the banner in Mr. Bell's face. 4) Right after Curly sits on the knitting needles, Moe and Larry come over to help him, when he is grabbing Mr. Bell's ears in pain, you can hear Joe Besser's voice dubbed in saying "Oooh, hey wait a minute". [Thanks to Numskull for this one] 5) When the wives knock the Stooges off of the pre-built house, they use stuntmen for the Stooges. After crashing to the ground, the stuntmen get up from the floor, but in the next shot where the Stooges take their places, they are still lying on the ground then they get up again. 6) When Curly yells after Moe accidentally drils through his foot, Moe looks up, but in the next shot, Moe is looking down then he looks up again. 7) When Cora Bell asks "Where's Curly?" she has her hand on Moe's shoulder, but her hand isn't in the next shot. 8) When Curly falls out of the tree, the board that was used to get him down is still standing up, but it's lying down on the ground in the next shot. 9) When the Stooges and their wives first arrive at the lot where their house is supposed to be, there all sitting in the back of the truck. Then the camera shows a brief close-up of a sign, and when it goes back to the Stooges and their wives, all of them are out of the truck already except for Moe. 10) Also, please delete the Joe Besser goof, because that wasn't his voice, it was Moe's voice.

TERMITES OF 1938 (1938): 1) You can tell that Curly isn't really playing the flute because he doesn't even bring it up to his lips. 2) You can see a string on the mouse when it's coming out of the whole when Curly is playing the flute. 3) At the end when the Stooges take off in their car, the passengers door opens up by an accident. 4) When we first see the Stooges, Larry is helping Moe set up a rope, but in the next shot, Larry's hands are to his side. 5) During one part of the dinner scene, the guests are eating their soup, then in the next shot, the butler is suddenly taking their bowls away and giving them their next meal. 6) When the English lord gets repellent sprayed in his face through the hole in the wall, he cries, "What the" and at the same time, you can hear him yelling "OOOOOOH!!!" in the background. 7) During the musical scene, Curly breaks the flute in half, but in the next shot, the flute is back together. 8) You can see water stains on Lord Wafflebottom and the wall before he even gets sprayed with the repellent.

Larry is looking at him, but he's loking at Moe and Curly in the next shot. 3) When Moe walks over to the boss, he's saying something but you can't hear him due to the loud bucket noises. 4) After Moe tickles Curly's chin with the paintbrush, he puts the brush down on the table, and it falls back off. 5) After Larry asks "Hey, what about my hair?" and Moe responds "I gave it back to you didn't I?" and slaps Larry, you can hear someone laugh in the background. 6) There's a cut in the picture when the buckets land on the Stooges heads at the end. 7) When Moe says his name then translates it into piglatin, he has his hand backwards, then flips it frontwards. But when he's saying Larry's name and translates it into piglatin, he does the hand flip gesture backwards but Curly does it the right way. 8) Towards the end, we see the butler with paint all over his face, yet we don't see how it got there. 9) At the end when the Stooges jump on the boards to make the paintbuckets launch in the air, it looks like Moe hurts his foot or something because you can see him hop back off the board with a painful expression right before the camera cuts away.

FLAT FOOT STOOGES (1938): 1) Right before Moe is about to pull the string, his hat is on backward, but it's on frontwards in the next shot. Also, he misses his cue and is about to pull the string too early while Curly is still speaking. 2) Curly goofed up his line by saying "The horses fall on the harness a....the harness falls on the horses". Watch Moe's face when this happens. 3) Moe's loses track of the horses gender several times in the bath scene and refers to the horse as a "him" and "her". 4) Another line is stuffed, up this time, Moe's "What do you expect a firemouse, I mean, uh, firehouse mouse to smell like" 5) Moe's hat falls off when he finally pulls the string, and you can see him clumsily trying to catch it before it cuts to the next shot and he almost falls off his chair. It's pretty funny. 6) Not sure if this was intentional or not, but there is no writer credited in the opening. 7) When the Stooges are gathering all the volunteers to help pull the fire engine, you can hear a screaming voice in the background that sounds a lot like the chief's daughter. But she was supposed to be unconscious at the time, in the burning room upstairs.

It was probably an earlier yell from him dubbed in at the wrong time. 7) When the Henry the VIII bed crashes apart, Moe ends up on top of it, but in the next shot, he's suddenly under it. 8) When Curly is drinking from the champagne bottle, you can see that the bottle is really empty.

Then when we hear him say "Take it up!", it doesn't match his actual lip movements. 8) There's one part where the camera shows a close- up of Moe sniffing the air and making a face where you can easily tell that he smells the baby's diaper, but the bit abruptly ends right there and goes to the next part, so there's no finish to the set-up.

THREE LITTLE SEW AND SEWS (1939): 1) When Curly is being pulled by the spring and he falls down and hits his head on a table, you can hear somebody in the background laughing. 2) After Curly gets pulled by the spring and lands back on the cough, it cuts to Vernon Dent already laugh, but we don't see him beginning to laugh. Also, Curly says to him "You're gettin' in my hair!" but Dent didn't do anything to Curly before so why did Curly get to pissed off at him? 3) After Larry accidentally knocks out Moe instead of Gehrol, in the background, you can see Curly begin to get up from the floor, but in the next shot, Curly is lying down on the floor then he gets up again. 4) Look closely and you can see the string that holds the bombs when they fly past Curly, and you can see the strings holding the Stooges up at the end when they're shown as angels. 5) You can see a hole in the back of Moe's pants prior to him sitting down on the curling iron. 6) When Curly says "...and beans!", it doesn't match his actual mouth movement.

Apparently, "Shmalts" was supposed to be "Moe", but I can't see how "Moe" could come out sounding like that. 7) When Larry and Moe begin wrapping Curly up as a mummy, they wrap his arms against the sides of his body, but in the next scene when they're done wrapping up Curly, both of his arms are free. 8) When the bad guys step on the rug and fall through the hole, their yells sound remarkably just like the Stooges!

In the next shot, the rifle is in Moe's left hand and Curly isn't holding the duck. 4) After Curly says "My mind's a blank", it suddenly cuts to Moe saying "...you!" 5) Larry says "We can't hold out much longer, r..." then it suddenly cuts to him saying "This is the last one". 6) After Moe accidentally knocks Curly in the water, he asks "What are you doin' in swimmin'?" and right in the middle of his line, some water sprays in his face.

YES, WE HAVE NO BONANZA (1939): 1) Watch when Curly first enters the saloon. After the shot when he says, "Hiya, Babe!", you can see the shadow of the overhead microphone following Curly in the upper left of the screen! But after Larry accidentally spills the beer in Moe's face, the glass is now non-see through. 8) When Moe puts the seltzer bottle on the counter, he accidentally sprays some on his hand. 9) You can see a band-aid on Curly's left hand throughout this short. 10) When Curly gets a pot stuck on his head, we are supposed to believe that the Stooges are outside, but you can see a reflection of studio lights on the pot.

SAVED BY THE BELLE (1939): 1) Did Curly mess up when he said, "Don't you dare harm the feather in his bed, I mean head"? 2) After Larry takes the hammer out of the pie, he has a surprised look on his face, but in the next shot, he's smiling and you can hear the end of a ringing noise. 3) Moe says "95% temper", 5% mental", Curly looks at Moe in confusion, but in the next shot, he's looking elsewhere and he's smiling. 4) When the Stooges land on the back of the horse at the end, Curly looks like he's about to crack up. 5) As the Stooges arrive at Singapore Joe's camp, the parrot cage, which is either strapped to or resting on the horse's back, begins to fall off the horse, but the scene quickly jumps to the next scene before we see the cage fall to the ground.

He pronounced it correctly earlier in the film.

They had to get the first aid man to pry his eyes open and take that crap out of his eyes. 4) After Curly says "Oh, hit a woman would you?", it cuts to a shot of the road, and when it cuts back to the original shot, the Stooges and the swindlers have changed positions all of a sudden. 5) Near the end when the Stooges are fighting over the steering wheel, Larry has this smile on his face like he's going to break character, but it's Moe's shoving him out the way that snaps him out of it. 6) When the camera first shows the Stooges throwing wood into the bottom-less wagon, you can see a chicken under there, frantically trying to get away before it gets hurt. 7) During Curly's battle with the wagon door, you can see the string attached to the door that was used to pull it up. 8) As Curly is crawling to the opening of the wagon to tell Moe and Larry to stop throwing the wood, you can see one wooden log accidentally hit the side of his face right before the camera cuts away. 9) When Moe tries to unclog the water pump with a crowbar, the crowbar he uses looks a lot different from the crowbar used a few seconds ago to twist off the pump head, but we were supposed to believe they were the same one. 10) When the crowbar spins around and is supposed to hit all 3 Stooges on the back of the head, it doesn't hit Moe, yet he still reacts.

THREE SAPPY PEOPLE (1939): 1) A jump cut in the picture when Curly crashes off-screen. 2) When they show Curly sitting on a bucket with a board lying on his head, his hat is on correctly, but when Moe and Larry walk up to him, Curly's hat is on sideways. 3) When Curly buzzes the lady with the razor, she almost laughs. 4) After Moe sarcastically says "Yes, isn't he a scream?", the camera cuts to another angle and Larry is holding his head as if he was hit, but we don't see it happen. 5) The black tamale stains on Moe's face keeps disappearing and reappearing during the cream puff fight.

It's also spelled that way in the sequel, I'LL NEVER HEIL AGAIN (1941). 6) When the storm troopers are marching way, one of them almost falls over backwards. 7) When Curly raises his arm with the golf bag on it, the strap on the bag hits Larry on the head. 8) Actress Lorna Gray almost laughs while watching the storm troopers marching.

ROCKIN' THRU THE ROCKIES (1940): 1) When one of the ladies says "Well, if there are any Indians around, they certainly know where to find us", she stands in between Curly and Larry, but in the next shot, she's standing in front of Moe and Curly. 2) When Moe says, "Quiet, Airedale" to Curly, Moe's hat is off. Then the camera shows a brief close-up of the Indian chief, and when it cuts back to Moe and Curly, Moe's hat is on. 3) After the Indian chief says "Not bad" he turns his head and headdress hits the other Indian in the face. 4) Did Curly goof when he said, "A lizard"I mean, a blizzard"? 5) When Moe, Larry and Curly fall through the ice at various times, they are pulled out soaking wet. The next time we see them, they are dry! [thanks to Larrysgirl for this one] 6) When the camera shows a close-up of the ice cubes falling into the bucket, there are several noticeable jump cuts in the picture.

A PLUMBING WE WILL GO (1940): 1) After the cop kicks Curly, Curly runs off-screen and begins to woo-woo, but it abruptly gets cut off in the dissolve to the next scene. 2) Before Curly falls down into the basement, Moe has no wrench in his hand, but in the next shot when Curly falls into the basement, a wrench magically appears in Moe's hand. 3) After Curly and Larry fall out from the back of the plumber's truck and crash into the ground, Larry has the front of his body faced towards Curly and Curly's hat falls off. Then the camera cuts to a closer shot of them, and Larry suddenly has his back to Curly and Curly's hat is back on. 4) When the Stooges first enter the basement and run around in circles on the wet floor, Moe accidentally slips and falls down, but quickly gets up from the floor like nothing happened. 5) The bit where Larry says you use the strings on the straitjacket/girdle to swing seemed awkwardly ad-libbed to me, and right when Moe's about to hit Larry after his comment, he suddenly stops for no apparent reason, probably because Larry didn't expect the hit. 6) Towards the end of the short, when Curly returns to the bathroom that he was working in earlier where he connected a maze of pipes together and cut a hole through the floor, the maze of pipes are gone for some reason. The maze of pipes should've been exactly where Curly left them before he fell through the hole in the floor earlier.

Also, the cop's "c'mon" is played twice. 3) Right before the Stooges crash the door open, somebody inside slightly opens the door for them. 4) When Curly takes the light bulb with him, the light obviously stays on to long after Curly throws the bulb down. [thanks to kingMJA for this one] 5) At the end when Curly tries to swipe some cream on Moe's face, he misses the first time. Also, after Moe gets hit with the cream, he closes his mouth, yet you can still hear him singing.

HOW HIGH IS UP? (1940): 1) A jump cut in the picture when the fly is dangling around Curly's open mouth. 2) Larry cracks up when Curly grunts (probably an ad-lib) "Don't mind me! Don't mind me!" 3) When Moe is standing on the ledge of the car to help pull Curly's sweater off, he accidentally falls off the ledge but Larry catches him. You can hear Moe say "Thanks" to Larry afterward. 4) When we see the rivet in Curly's sandwich, we don't see any bite marks on it, yet we saw Curly taking bites out of the rivet. 5) When Moe asks Larry "Ever hear of the V5?", Curly is sitting straight up, but in the next shot, he's suddenly tilted over sideways. 6) When the Stooges are first being raised on the I- beam, as it gets towards the top of the camera angle you can see the I-beam stop for a quick second right before the camera cuts to a closer shot of the Stooges on the I-beam with it still moving.

NO CENSUS, NO FEELING (1940): 1) When Curly puts the grater back on the table, it falls right back off. 2) The football in the back of Curly's shirt disappears with no explanation. 3) When the Stooges crash into a fence there's people walking behind them, but they're gone in the next shot. 4) Right before the football player head-butts Curly to the ground, Moe trips over the football player's foot. 5) Was Curly supposed to stab his hand with the ice cream cone when he was trying to get it off his face? 6) When the camera shows a shot of the crowd cheering, you can see confetti flying in the air, but the game hasn't even finished yet. 7) When the foreign store owner cries to the cop "Three tramps just wrecked my store!", the actor playing the cop looked like he's almost going to laugh for a quick second. 8) As Curly is telling the maid that he'll serve the punch for her, you can see a moving shadow on the left corner of the screen.

COOKOO CAVALIERS (1940): 1) After Curly says, "Tarpon monoxide" the camera cuts back to the dog, but he is lying on the floor in a different position than he was in the previous shot. 2) The hardened mud on the lady's face keeps changing from light to dark in different shots. 3) When Curly accidentally sprays himself with paint, he gets some over his eyes, but it's gone in the next shot. 4) After the Stooges finally smash the hardened mud on the lady's face, Curly has a round thing on the side of his head that wasn't there before. 5) We see hair remover spilled on the dog, but we never see the after results. 6) After Moe pinches Curly in the arm, the camera cuts to the next shot and Moe and Curly are both in different positions suddenly. 7) As the Stooges are putting the mud on Rosita's face, Moe and Curly start arguing and hitting each other with mud. It looks to me like that wasn't supposed to happen and Moe and Curly were really angry at each other during filming. Also, notice that Larry starts laughing out of character the first time Moe hits Curly, and right as Moe's about to leave, Curly swipes some mud on his face (and there's no sound effect for it, giving more evidence that this probably wasn't supposed to happeen), then Moe turns back to Curly giving him a mean stare, then it cuts to the next shot and Moe is suddenly cutting Rosita's fingernails.

BOOBS IN ARMS (1940): 1) After Curly grunts "Oh, a snobbess, eh?" to the lady, it suddenly cuts to the Stooges looking down at the ground for some reason, and Larry's in a completely different position. 2) When the Stooges greet themselves to the lady at the door, you can tell the lady is trying to reach for her hanky for when she begins crying. 3) When water sprays out of the lady's ear, it's supposed to spray Curly and Moe on the face, but Moe had to move his face closer because the water missed him entirely. 4) When Curly puts the rifle over his right shoulder, it almost hits the drill sergeant by accident. 5) When the drill sergeant is going over the order of arms ("right shoulder arms! Left shoulder arms!"), just prior to demonstrating the correct way to do it, you'll notice Curly going into his pocket with his right hand. Just before the scene cuts to another camera, Curly pulls an apple out of his pocket (obviously, the gag was supposed to be that he would give the sergeant the apple, like a schoolboy would to a teacher in trying to suck up to him). [thanks to Jim Sullivan for this one] 6) When Curly comes out of the bag to throw water on the sergeant, he has some water in his eye. 7) When the boys are woke up on the Battlefield, they line up to salute, watch Larry he cant get his timing to match Moe & Curly. Dare's face. But we never saw the Sgt. spray water in Moe's bag, so where'd Moe get the water from? 16) When Curly first gets his head stuck in the cannon, his hands are to his side, then in the next shot, his hands are suddenly on both sides of the cannon. 17) When Curly first gets his head stuck in the cannon, they accidentally play audio of Moe saying "Hey, waitaminnit!" too early. 18) When the general says a line in piglatin, his mouth doesn't move for the first two words. 19) When the enemy general has that pointy hat thing stuck in his behind, he run towards the window sill, then the camera cuts over to Moe and Larry and we suddenly hear a thud noise off-screen, as if the general jumped out the window. But he couldn't have done it that fast without there being a quick cut in between.

SO LONG MR. CHUMPS (1941): 1) The second time the Stooges sweep their brooms toward each other, they're supposed to collide, but if you pause the scene frame by frame, you'll notice that their brooms accidentally miss each other at first, but in the next shot, their brooms collide. 2) After Larry says, "That's a coincidence. How'd you get under that paper?" Moe looks like he's going to say something but it cuts to the next scene before he does. 3) Curly hits Moe with his broom by accident, his hat almost falls off. 4) A jump cut in the picture when Curly finally gets the flypaper off of his hand. 5) When Gyp DePeople is pointing a gun at the Stooges, Curly and Larry are standing in opposite positions than they were standing in the previous shot. 6) While the bullet is shooting all around the place, Curly is saying something but you can't hear due to the sound effects. 7) When the boys are bowling, they take the balls off of their chains, but later in the short, the balls are back on the chains without any explanation. 8) A jump cut in the picture when the guard takes a bite out of his sandwich. 9) The shot of Curly getting splattered with a paintbrush when the boys are painting each other's uniforms is accidentally played twice. 10) When the guard gets slapped by the Stooges paintbrushes, he has on his hat, but when Curly walks up to him, the guard's hat is off. 11) At the end when Curly says "I'm no fool, nyuk, nyuk!" Larry looks like he's going to laugh. 12) When the Stooges are walking down the sidewalk and notice a cop, in the background, you can see a man about to walk down stairs, but when the camera cuts over to a close-up of the Stooges, the man in the background is suddenly gone from the flight of stairs. Then in the next shot, the man is already at the bottom of the stairs. 13) After the Stooges burst open the door of the police headquarters and knock a cop down, Moe trips over him. 14) During one part of the rockpile scene, you can see Larry in the background getting off a horse carriage, but the horse begins moving again right before Larry can get off, so he ad- libs "Whoa!" to the horse to stop it.

DUTIFUL BUT DUMB (1941): 1) When Moe is lighting the giant cigar for Curly, Curly is holding the cigar with his left hand, but it's in his right hand in the next shot. 2) When Moe and Larry are saying, "Heave, ho" as Curly is trying to puff the cigar, Moe looks like he's going to laugh. 3) Curly goofs when he says, "I hear footprints." He meant to say "footsteps". 4) In one part while Curly is playing the harmonica inside the radio, we can see Curly take the harmonica out of his mouth yet the music still plays. 5) A lot of film cuts in the oyster sequence. 6) When Curly is firing a pistol at the oyster soup, he shoots a bottle and it falls off the counter. But if Curly was using a real gun, wouldn't the bottle have shattered instead of falling backwards? It's obvious that Curly was using blanks. 7) The magazine is called "Whack", but once the Stooges arrive in Vulgaria, the magazine is called "Focus" on their cart. 8) You can see the wires that pull Moe and Larry's shorts off when the invisible ray shoots them off. 9) Also, please delete the goofs about Curly saying "I hear footprints" and Curly taking the harmonica out of his mouth yet the music continues playing.

Same thing when Curly says, "I'll hit that 13 ball so hard, it'll fly in a million pieces." 5) When Moe says, "Do you see clause two," he accidentally knocks over something. 6) A jump cut in the film when Curly throws the globe in the air. 7) They are all dancing offbeat to the rumba music at first. 8) When the globe hits Chizzilini on the head, his hair is all black, but it was all white in the scenes before. Also, if the globe broke when Curly smashed it over Moe's head, why didn't it break when Curly kicked it at Mussolini's head? 9) At the beginning, when the bugler raises his bugle, the fanfare starts playing a few seconds before he actually starts blowing on the horn.

AN ACHE IN EVERY STAKE (1941): 1) You can see where the ice splits before Moe cracks it open. 2) In many scenes, they use Styrofoam boxes as the ice blocks, but you can easily tell the difference. 3) After Curly gives the lady an ice cube and says "Free sample" the lady looks like she's going to throw the ice cube back at Curly, but it cuts to the next scene before it happens. 4) The shot of the man running down the stairs is played twice. This might not be a mistake. Maybe they just wanted to make it seem like he was running longer. 5) After Curly says, "What does blood smell like?" he has a lot more "blood" on his face than he did in the shot before. 6) When Curly is dragged out of the back of the ice truck, the seat of his pants are obviously very thickly padded, and the 'ice' is obviously plastic. Also, Larry is holding one of the ice block halves in position until Moe hits it, then jumps out of its way when it falls (by now, it's real) [thanks to Tom Holland for this one]. 7) When Curly first bumps into Vernon Dent's character due to the spring on his back, Dent looks up with mean expression on his face, but in the next shot, he's looking down and smiling.

Dorothy was about throw a pie but she couldn't see because of the pie on her face so she put the pie down while everybody else hit Moe. 5) Moe says "Listen w..." then he abruptly gets cut off as it cuts to him saying "...we gotta get outta here!" 6) While the lion hunter (played by Eddie Laughton) is telling his story, some pie drips into Laughton's mouth and he trips over the word "wounded".

SOME MORE OF SAMOA (1941): 1) When Curly hikes to the middle, the tree limb hits him in the face. 2) When Moe beats Curly on the head with a hammer to shorten him back to normal size, you can hear the jack in the background for a few seconds, which is what they used in real life to lower Curly. 3) After the bag knocks Moe on the ground, it cuts to the next shot and Moe's hat is in a different place. 4) The apple in Curly's mouth changes from light to dark in several shots. Also, how did Curly say "soup bone" with that apple in his mouth? 5) When Curly is pivoting around in front of the hut after getting away from the cook, he has flour on the front of his shirt or hide or whatever it is. Then when Curly's in the hut fighting with the spirit, he doesn't have flour on him. Finally, when Curly comes out of the hut with the Puckerless Persimmon Plant, he has flour on him again! [thanks to AJJ for this one] 6) When the alligator is crawling over to Curly, you can see the tape covering it's mouth. 7) After Moe uses his belt to open the alligator's mouth and the natives chase the Stooges off, Moe's carrying his belt as he leaves the scene, but he's suddenly wearing it when they reach the boat.

LOCO BOY MAKES GOOD (1942): 1) As the scene dissolves into the Stooges inside the hotel, we hear Moe saying "...start slippin', we start suin'" but we don't hear the beginning of his line. 2) As Curly tossed the soap on the floor, Moe was putting his hat on, then in the next shot, the hat is in his hand again! [thanks to Sheila Burns on this one] 3) When the Stooges each begin to lay a carpet on the floor and roll one end of the carpet towards the wall, the other end of each carpet is supposed to roll back to the boys and hit them on their feet, but Larry's carpet stops rolling mid-way. It's fixed in the next shot. 4) When Larry lies across all three of the carpets, after a while, all three of the carpets become one! 5) When Curly is pulling all those handkerchiefs out of his pocket, we see Moe holding a rubber snake, but we never saw where he got it from.

That was hilarious. 6) Watch when Vernon Dent and his crony are looking through the window. Curly does an eye poke on Vernon and hits him clear at the top of his hat! [thanks to AJJ for this one] 7) When Curly says, "What's all this fuss about?!" at the end, Larry cracks up in the background. 8) We see the Stooges crawling out of the lost mine, but a little earlier in the film, Moe broke the ladder leading down into the mine, so how did the Stooges get out? 9) After the con-man says "I can sell you the map to the lost mine", the camera cuts to a quick close-up of Curly and the look on his face is different than the look on his face in the shots before and after.

MATRI-PHONY (1942): 1) When the snake begins to come out of the jar, it's head is peering out, but in the next shot, half of the snake's body is out of the jar. 2) A cut when Larry is yelling, "Oww! My ear! My ear!" 3) When Diana comes out of the jar when she thinks she hears the signal, she quickly ducks her head back in the jar. But in the next shot, she's still looking out the jar and she sticks her head back in. 4) There's a sudden cut to Moe and Larry trying to pull the cement off of the guard's behind. 5) When the camera shows a close up of the emperor in the scene where he's introduced, he's squinting his eyes, but he isn't in the long shots. 6) When Moe says, "You wanna get me in trouble? Easy, buddy, easy!" his lips aren't moving. 7) When one of the guards asks the knocked out guard if he saw the boys, you can see a hand on the back of Schindell's collar, but none of the boys are holding his neck yet. 8) After the guard asks "So you think they're three nice guys, huh?" Curly's lips are moving but we don't hear anything. 9) Right when the emperor is about to kiss Curly, it suddenly cuts to an earlier shot of Larry about to drink the poisoned wine, then it suddenly goes back to the original shot. This was very sloppy of the editors and confusing for the viewers. Why'd they do this? 10) A cut in the film when the boys are shown hanging on the edges of the spears. 11) When the Stooges are hanging upside down from the guards' spears, you can clearly hear what appears to be director Harry Edwards telling Larry "Larry, grab the....." Larry was the only one who was not grabbing onto his guard's trousers, so once the yell was heard off-screen, Larry quickly grabbed the pants. 12) When Moe puts paste on the wall, the long shot shows him painting Curly's face, but the close-up shows his face down and his head getting painted.

Also, it's possible that the chair hitting his head after that line wasn't supposed to happen. Watch him, he pauses for a while after it hits him. 3) When Moe is tying the chain around Curly's waist, Curly's holding one arm up, but in the next shot, he's holding up two arms, and in the next shot, he's back to holding one arm up again. 4) At the beginning when the Stooges are singing, Larry sings off-beat during one part.

Moe puts it back up, but then Larry knocks it down again afterwards! 2) After Moe tells Curly that he's not scrubbing the celery correctly, it abruptly cuts to Moe and Larry looking at hung-up pieces of celery in delight. 3) Watch Larry's face when Curly keeps handing Moe the scissors when he asks for pins. 4) When Larry says to the baby, "Fit for an airplane worker," Moe and Curly are in the background cutting some slices of spaghetti, but when it cuts to a closer shot of them, the spaghetti is suddenly gone. 5) The baby "burps" with its mouth closed. 6) When Moe picks up the baby, he says "Lemme see now" but his lips aren't moving. 7) When one of the cops get hit on the head with an ironing board repeatedly, his groans-of-pain don't match his actual mouth movements.

THEY STOOGE TO CONGA (1943): 1) When Larry lifts the board sign he's wearing over his face to block Moe's punch, his hat accidentally falls off. 2) A cut in the film when Moe is screwing that tool (what is it?) on Curly's nose. 3) A jump in the film when Curly's nose is being grinstoned. 4) A lot of film edits when Moe is getting spiked in the eye, ear, head, etc. 5) When Curly (actually a dummy) falls off the telephone pole and lands on Moe and Larry, they fall down and Larry lands with the front of his body on the floor. But in the next shot where Curly takes over in place of the dummy, Larry has his back on the floor. 6) When Curly disconnects the wire that's holding his telephone pole seat, you can immediately hear it hit the floor, but Curly's supposed to be about 30 feet in the air. 7) When Curly hits Moe and Larry with a hammer, the lamp behind him falls over. 8) A jump cut in the picture when Moe shoves the hammer in Curly's mouth. 9) When the Stooges walk up to the maid standing outside the door, Curly only has a toolbag in his left hand, but in the next shot, a pipe is also in his left hand. 10) When Moe tries to bite Curly's foot during the climbing spike scene, he misses at first.

DIZZY DETECTIVES (1943): 1) When Dill is complaining to the commissioner, Curly is looking at Dill, but in the next shot, Curly's looking at the commissioner. 2) When Curly sees that Larry is getting beat up, he rushes up to help him and if you listen carefully, you can hear somebody...well...listen yourself and you'll know what I mean. 3) When Curly says, "Listen you!" to Moe, he holds his right finger up to Moe and right before Moe bites it, Curly switches it with this left finger. Why did he do this? 4) When Curly says "Hey, I cut off my head, I'm dead" he's really saying something else. 5) When Curly moves his leg to make like he's going to kick the mannequin, he accidentally kicks Larry's hand. 6) After Moe bonks Larry and Curly's heads together, there's this strange awkward pause, then Moe says (and it sounds like he's ad- libbing) "Why....you...RAT!", and then Curly and Larry bump Moe back and forth. It looks like there was a line somewhere in there that got left out. 7) You can see the string that pulls the cat's tail back and forth. 8) When Moe pushes Curly back in the room where he heard the cat scream, Curly's hat accidentally falls off and Moe ad-libs "Get that hat!" 9) When Curly is doing his "chicken-with-his-head- cut-off" routine and crawls on his back towards Moe and Larry, Larry is standing behind Moe, but in the next shot, he's suddenly crouching down next to Moe. 10) After Curly kicks one of the bad guys up in the air, the camera shows a close-up of the bad guy on top of a moose-head and in the background, it sounds like you can hear the sound of a heart pounding. 11) After the Ape Man bursts inside of the room that the Stooges are in, Curly says "I've had enough of him, too!" But he never said "I've had enough of..." to anybody else prior that that line, so what was the "…him, too"? all about?

SPOOK LOUDER (1943): 1) When the camera fades into the opening scene, you can see the picture finishing dissolving from a previous scene that must've been deleted, or added in later into the film. 2) After Curly puts the "No Peddlers" sign on the lady's house, Curly walks back and almost trips over a suitcase. 3) If you turn the volume up real loud in the part where the Russian clock is going "Yo ho ho ho" you can hear a cat meowing in the background. That's presumably the same cat they showed walking on the piano keys. Maybe the clock scared the cat. 4) You can see the string that pulls the bird out of the clock. 5) When Curly shoots the boys hats off the first time, Moe and Curly's hats get blown off at the same time, but the sound effects make it seem like they got their hats shot off one at a time. 6) Why was Moe's yell dubbed in for Curly after their hats got shot off? 7) A change in Moe's hair pattern when Moe tells Curly, "Be careful with that!" 8) A jump cut in the picture when the spies peer from behind the bushes. 9) Again, why was Curly's laugh dubbed in when the master spy got hit with a pie? 10) After Prof. Dunkfeather says "The salesmen were in a conference..." the scene wipes and we see the Stooges jumping as if they heard something scary but we don't hear the mysterious laugh until a few seconds later. 11) After Moe gets his with a pie, he drops the club in his hand, but in the next shot, he's still holding the club and he drops it again. 12) Jump cuts in the picture when the plug is going in and out of the socket. 13) When we see the balloon on Curly's back, the face drawn on the balloon is missing a tooth, but when they showed the balloon coming out of the trunk when Curly opened it, it had all of it's teeth. 14) Yet again, why'd they dub in Moe's yell for Curly when the balloon explodes and scared him? 15) When the thin lady slams the door, the No Peddlers sign accidentally falls off the house.

BACK FROM THE FRONT (1943): 1) In the credits above Jules White's name, it says "Produced and Directed" but it's missing "by". 2) Moe must be a terrible kisser because his girlfriend looked like she was trying to wipe it off or something after he kissed her. 3) When the dog's barking wakes up Dungen, we hear a cat meowing too, but we never see the cat. 4) Jump cuts in the picture when Curly is getting splashed with water through the porthole. 5) When the Stooges are first shown on their mini-boat, Moe is looking through a pair of binoculars, then the camera shows the dog paddling in the water and when it shows the Stooges again, Moe's binoculars are gone. 6) Larry says "There's the ship, anchors over there, se..." then his line gets cut off in the next shot. 7) When the Stooges are knocking out the German soldiers, they're keeping a tally, but there's no explanation of how the second tally got there.

THREE LITTLE TWIRPS (1943): 1) While the boys are putting up a billboard poster for a circus, their boss shows up. The scene has him as if he just pulled up in his car. When he shuts the car door it looks like he does so on his hand. This looks like it really happened. But, if you look closer, the door does not shut all the way afterwards. The camera cuts to the boys at the billboard and then back to their boss, the circus owner by his car with the door ajar. Notice the back seat of the car. Is that somebody sitting up? Is somebody in the car? I can only reason that somebody was keeping the door from shutting all the way. It may be a shadow on the other side of the car [thanks to curlylk for this one]. 2) When Curly takes off his jacket during the "Bearded Lady" scene, he has on a short sleeved shirt with suspenders, but in the next scene where Curly and Larry hide in a horse costume, Curly's wearing a long-sleeved shirt with suspenders. But when the camera shows Curly and Larry inside the horse costume, Curly is wearing a short sleeved shirt with no suspenders. What the heck happened to his shirt? Why did it keep changing? 3) Did the old circus hand goof when he said, "Now I'll give you a lesson you'll never remember"? Shouldn't he have said "forget" instead of "remember"? 4) Curly's eye looks swollen after the old circus hand faints. 5) When the rope ties around the Stooges' necks, it gets caught on Curly's hat. 6) When Curly takes out the spear that's hanging above his head, he accidentally takes his hat too, which is snagged on to the spear. 7) You can see the strings holding Curly's stunt double when he's walking on the tightrope. 8) When Mr. Herman arrives in his car, he looks over at the Stooges and notices the big hole in the middle of the poster they're hanging up, and he gets mad. Then the camera shows the Stooges putting up a new poster fast, and when Mr. Herman walks up a minute later, he looks at the new poster and says "Looks pretty good boys!" But he just saw the previous poster with the hole through it, so why is he happy all of a sudden? He must have short-term memory! 9) When Curly is supposed to accidentally hit Larry and Moe behind him with hammers, he clearly misses Larry yet Larry still reacts as if he was hit. 10) When Curly is climbing up the pole, you can hear the sultan laughing off-screen before he actually starts laughing.

HIGHER THAN A KITE (1943): 1) A jump cut in the picture when Kelly's car runs the Stooges over. 2) Right before the engine blows soot in Moe's eyes, you can see Moe's eyes already blackened. 3) When Moe pokes Curly in the eyes, the sound effects men added in a honking noise instead of a plunk. Either they thought that Moe crunched Curly's nose instead of poked him the eye, or maybe they were still using different variations of SFX for the eyepoke before they settled on the ukulele plunk. 4) After Curly uses the forked end of the crowbar to get Moe out of the pipe, Curly uses the other straight end of the crowbar. Then the camera shows Moe yelling as the crowbar keeps hitting him on the face, then it shows Curly and Larry yanking the crowbar, and when it shows Moe again, the forked end of the crowbar is pressing up against his face! Weren't they just using the other end of the crowbar? 5) When Larry and Curly try to heat off the pipe on Moe's head, Moe has his hands on the pipe, but in the next shot his hands aren't on the pipe, then when it goes back to the original shot, Moe's hands are on the pipe again. 6) When Curly and Larry twist Moe out of the pipe, they twist him towards the right of the pipe, but when the camera shows a close up of Moe's head in the pipe, he's being turned towards the left all of a sudden. 7) When Larry says, "Maybe they're droppin' the pipe in the ditch" Curly mouths that line. 8) When Larry "lifts" the car hood off of Curly's arms, you can see the string that lifts it. 9) Curly is trying to bite open the hand grenade, then it cuts to the next shot and the pin is suddenly pulled out of the grenade. 10) When Vernon Dent comes riding into town on his E-Cart, he accidentally elbows Dick Curtis...well...below his belly. 11) When the Stooges land inside of the German house, Larry climbs out of the hole and accidentally crushes Moe's face. Moe grunts, "I'll moider you when I get out of this!" Then it cuts to the next shot, and Moe is suddenly out of the hole before Larry. 12) When Moe looks in the exhaust pipe, his hat is on. Then the camera shows a quick shot of Curly stepping on the gas in the car, and when it cuts back to Moe, his hat is suddenly gone. 13) When Kelly walks up to the car, the window on the passenger's door is closed, but when Kelly gets in the car, the window is suddenly open.

I CAN HARDLY WAIT (1943): 1) When Moe focuses the flashlight on Larry, you can tell that the light is really a spotlight in the background, especially since we can hear the spotlight in the background click when it comes on. 2) When Moe and Curly are breaking into the safe, Curly says "Hey" and in the next shot, Curly is rubbing his face as if Moe hit him, but we don't see it. 3) When Moe is pretending to play his bread like an accordion, Moe make a mean grin, but when the camera shows a close-up of Moe, he's making a mean frown, then when it goes back to the original shot, he's making a mean grin again. 4) When Larry yells to Curly, "Be quiet and go to sleep!" he's really yelling something else. 5) When Larry says, "We gotta get that tooth out or we'll never get to sleep", Moe hand is on his chin but it wasn't in the previous shot. 6) When the dynamite stick that Curly throws lands in Moe's pants, you can see a string on his pants. 7) After Moe double-slaps Curly and Larry for yodeling, Larry accidentally elbows the tea kettle and almost knocks it over. 8) When Moe tells Curly to clean the ham, you can see the ham is sort of falling apart, but then after Curly washes it, it is obviously not the same piece of ham. 9) At the beginning of Curly's dream, when Curly falls out of the top of the bunk bed, the use stunt doubles for all the Stooges. The Curly double is supposed to fall on Larry and Moe's doubles and pull them to the floor, but you can see the Moe double actually roll out of the bed before the Curly double reaches him. 10) When Moe says "Lemme see" and looks in Curly's mouth, you can see Larry behind Moe, climbing out of his bunk bed. Then the camera cuts to a closer shot of Curly and Moe, and Larry is suddenly gone. 11) When Moe slaps Larry for his "How is he; pretty heavy?" comment, Larry is standing next to Moe, but he's suddenly standing behind him in the next shot. 12) When Moe drags Curly off-camera by a string tied to his bad tooth, Curly is crouching forward and howling in pain, but in the next shot, he's standing up straight and smiling. 13) When Moe is about to push the door tied to Curly's tooth shut, the string on Curly's tooth is straight, but in the next shot, it's suddenly bent down in the middle. 14) After Curly cries "My sweet little, cute little, adorable little, sweet little bushy-wushy tooth!", Moe almost cracks up and he puts his hand over his mouth to hide his near-laughter. 15) After Curly throws the dynamite into Moe's pants, he cover his face in anticipation of it going off, but he looks back too early and it goes off while he's looking straight at it. 16) At the beginning of the shot where Moe says to Curly, "You're a coward!", Curly is pointing his left index finger at Moe, but he wasn't in the previous shot. 17) As Dr. Yank approaches Moe's mouth to extract the tooth, you can see Moe open his mouth by himself, but he was supposed to be knocked out.

DIZZY PILOTS (1943): 1) A film cut in Curly's position when Moe's fighting with him over the tub. 2) Many of Moe's yells when he's floating in the air are obviously dubbed in. 3) After Curly fires the shotgun in the air, he accidentally backs his elbow into Larry's chest. Afterwards, they show a shot of Moe falling in the well, and when it cuts back, Larry has a cigar in his mouth that he didn't have before. 4) Curly gets something in his mouth when Larry says, "Hey, you two guys goin' steady?" 5) Watch Curly throw out the airplane's gearshift, while the trio is in mid-air. You will hear it hit the studio floor. [thanks to Hammond Eggar for this one] 6) When reading the letter aloud at the beginning, Moe says "proved" when the letter says "proven". 7) After Moe falls in the well, it cuts to the next scene with the Stooges back in the garage and Moe's wearing the same jumpsuit he wears at the beginning of the film. But earlier in the film, Moe had the suit covered with melted rubber, inflated with gas, and he left it floating mid- air after he got blown out of it, so how'd he get back into the same suit? 8) When Moe tries to strangle Curly after his "King's english" comment, he's supposed to say "Shut up!" but Curly says it along with him for some reason. 9) When Moe gets lifted up by the propeller, you can see the string that pulls him up. 10) When Larry hands Moe a cigar, it's in his left hand at first, but it's in his right hand suddenly in the next shot.

Then when he walks in the shack, there's nothing on the back of his pants.

A GEM OF A JAM (1943): 1) After water sprays out of Curly's mouth the first time and sprays Moe, you can hear this strange noise, it most likely came from the source of water that sprayed Moe. 2) When Moe takes the bit and sticks it in Curly's body hidden under sheets (which is really a dummy) Moe cranks the bit too hard and the sheet covering the body begins to twist and rip and the dummy begins twisting and ripping too! Look at Larry's face while this happens. 3) When the cops return, there's a police car behind them, but it's gone in the next shot. 4) Moe and Larry are backing towards each other with Curly in the middle, a jump cut occurs in the picture and Moe is in a different position.

CRASH GOES THE HASH (1944): 1) At the beginning, Vernon Dent saying "They got the story" is played twice by an accident. 2) On the box of dog food, the product is called "Puppo Dog Biscuit", but on the actual biscuit, "biscuit" is spelled "bisquit." 3) Moe pulls his nose out of the door before Curly can help him. 4) When Larry accidentally tears Mrs. Van Bustle's dress off, he is holding two glasses. When Mrs. Van Bustle runs back to reclaim her skirt, Larry is covering his eyes, and the glasses are gone. [thanks to Nosehonk for this one] 5) When the turkey jumps off the table, it accidentally knocks down a dish. 4) When the Stooges catch the butler and the Prince robbing the safe, Moe says "I got ya..." then 5 seconds later, he continues "...with the goods and you're goin' to jail". I don't know why there was a long pause in that line, unless Moe forgot what to say. 6) When Curly says, "We're millionaires!" Mr. Bull is looking up at him with a smile, but in the next shot, he's looking down without a smile. 7.) If I'm not mistaken, I can see the rope holding Curly before Symona Boniface lifts him up and kisses him. 8) During the fight scene, the shot where Curly kicks the butler in the behind, then stomach-butts him is played in fast-motion for comedic effects, but the audio of the butler's groans-of-pain are heard too early before Curly even does anything to him.

BUSY BUDDIES (1944): 1) Before Curly coughs up the feathers, you can see a few feathers flying around already, as if they were left from a previous take. 2) A jump cut in the picture when Curly checks to see if the egg is hard-boiled. 3) Curly's "nyaaaaah" when Moe gets hit with the plaster is played twice. Also, his "nyaaaaah" when seeing Moe with the egg on his eyes is also played twice. 4) Curly hangs up a poster and after he looks at it, he asks, "What kind of language is that" and Moe sets him straight by telling him "It's upside down!" which it indeed is. However, when the camera shows a close up of the poster, not only is it upside down, but it's backwards! 5) A jump cut when Curly removes the poster section of the billboard. 6) What happened to Curly's jacket when he's hanging on the telephone pole? 7) You can see milk stains on the wall before Curly even squeezes milk out of the glove. 8) A jump cut in the film before the stool hits Curly on the head. 9) When the champion is spinning the "cow" around, they show a close-up of Curly and the referee and they duck, but in the next shot, they're not ducking. 10) When Curly (actually a dummy) gets thrown over the fence the first time, you can see the hand of the crew member that throws the dummy. 11) After the referee points off-screen supposedly to Curly and yells "You're disqualified!", Curly approaches him from a completely different location to argue the ruling and the referee then turns the right way to face Curly.

A gander! A goose's husband!" he's looking at Curly, but he's looking away in the next shot. 3) Towards the end of the film, we see Curly holding his eyes as if he was poked, but we never see it. 4) Many of the dialogue at the end of the short are dubbed in. 5) Curly flubs a line when he says "Hit me with that and we'll be...all be even." He's riding!", Larry is holding his arms up. Then it cuts to the next shot and Larry's arms are suddenly down.

Likewise, when Moe stands on Curly's shoulders, Moe's mouth isn't moving, but we hear him speaking something in mock Japanese.

You're gonna sink us!", he grabs Curly by the neck and starts to say something else, but Curly cuts him off. 12) During one part of the fishing scene, Moe accidentally slips in the boat next to Larry, then there's an awkward pause for a few seconds, followed by Moe ad-libbing "Move down there!" to Larry.

It's either the bear or me!", he has only his left hand on the rifle. Then the camera cuts to a closer shot of the boys and Moe suddenly has both hands on the rifle. Sa..." then his line gets cut off, then he says "C'mon, c'mon, say a few syllables!"

MICRO-PHONIES (1945): 1) In the recording studio when Curly is lip-synching to "Voices of Spring" during one part, Moe thinks it's time for him to pretend to play the flute but it isn't time yet, and you can see Moe make a mean face at Curly when he realizes. Then when it is time for Moe to pretend to play the flute, he misses his cue and starts playing too late. 2) During when part where Curly is lip-syncing "Sextet From Lucia", Moe closes his eyes and puts his hand on his chin and looks like he forgets what he had to do next. 3) At the end when Curly is lip-syncing to "Voices of Spring" at the party, Moe and Larry are quietly cracking up together. 4) When Alice is explaining to her manager why she won't audition for Mrs. Bixby in person, there's a noticeable jump cut towards the end of her dialogue. (Though it should be mentioned that the portion of this scene that re-appears in STOP, LOOK, AND LAUGH doesn't have the jump cut in it) 5) During Moe's fake Gritto radio ad, when he's supposed to say "Ottriga", he accidentally says "ga" twice in a row, then kind of clears his throat afterwards in embarrassment. 6) Also, please delete the goof about Moe putting his hand on his chin and looking like he forgot what to do next.

One of those grunts was dubbed in. 9) When Curly sees the beer overflowing out of the pot, he yells "Hey, the soup is boilin' over!" Why did he call it soup? 10) In the reused footage from SO LONG MR. CHUMPS, the Stooges are trying to look for convict 41144, but they cut out the explanation from the original version of why they were even looking for him and there's no explanation at all in the new footage either, leaving the viewers confused. 11) In a reused scene from IN THE SWEET PIE AND PIE and in a new scene afterwards, the Stooges wear license plates that have the year 1942 on them. Made sense in PIE AND PIE when that short was actually released around that time, but this short was released years after '42.

When Moe's wife throws the drink in his face, Moe has some in his eye. Then the wives are supposed to strangle the boys, but Larry's wife hugs him at first, then she remembers that she's supposed to strangle him. 7) After Moe and Larry tell Curly through the shack window to fake his death during his execution, Curly says "I understand". Then they show a small scene with the soldiers fighting over the ham, and when it goes back to the Stooges, they replay Curly saying "I understand".

THE THREE TROUBLEDOERS (1946): 1) You can tell that Curly didn't really shoot the balloon, because it would've instantly exploded, not slowly deflate. 2) After Curly laughs when he shoots the cracker, we see Curly from the back and he takes off his glasses, but they're still on in the next shot. 3) Similar to OILY TO BED..., when the bazooka fired soot into Moe's face, some soot went into his eyes and he had to get the first aid man to pry his eyes open and take chunks of the soot out of his eyes. 4) After the Stooges jump the justice of peace, we are supposed to believe that Curly put on the justice's clothes in less than a second. But if you notice, there's a sudden jump in the picture before Curly comes out dressed as the Justice, making it obvious that Curly didn't get dressed that fast. 5) When Moe and Larry are helping Curly out of the collar, Curly's collar is on a lot looser than it was when the two bad guys put it on him. 6) When Moe takes the crowbar out of Curly's collar, it accidentally scratches Curly on the cheek. 7) When Moe is putting the firecracker in Curly's collar, Moe says "Hold sti..." then his line gets cut off in the cut to the next shot. 8) A cut to Curly saying, "Just my luck. [thanks to B. Bopper for pointing this one out] 5) After the little boy says "Oh, so you just moved in on me, eh", it cuts to another shot and the Stooges are holding their faces as if they were slapped, but we don't see it. [BTW, some Stooge fans have said that they've seen a version of the short where the little boy does triple slap the Stooges, but Columbia Tri-Star video, which shows every Stooge short uncut, has this short on video and it doesn't have the kid slapping the Stooges on there. Neither do any of the other versions I've seen. Have you seen this version?] 6) When Moe is supposed to ask Curly to open his mouth and then to depress his lower jaw, Curly depresses his lower jaw too early before Moe even asks him. 7) Early on in the fight scene, we see Curly immediately beating up one of the three crooks and locking him in a trunk, then the rest of the fight scene focuses on Larry and Moe being beat up by the other two crooks, so why don't we see Curly helping Larry and Moe afterwards? Obviously, the writers were trying not to give Curly too much to do due to his illness, but they should've at least explained what he was doing for the remainder of the fight scene.

[thanks to Sir Moeington for this one] 6) During the fight scene, when Curly is doing his turkey gobble noise to the camera, his glasses fall off, twice. 7) We see Curly put a golden bowl over his head but we never see what he uses it for. 8) After Christine McIntyre smashes a glass over Black Louie's head, Louie dazedly staggers around and accidentally knees Curly. 9) When Curly says "Because a hot stake is better than cold chop", you can see Larry mouthing along some parts of that line.

After only 2 seconds, it cuts from the replayed scene to a new scene. 3) You can see a shadow of some sort behind the paint can when a hole is shot through it.

BRIDELESS GROOM (1947): 1) When Moe and Shemp are in the phone booth, their fists come flying out and hit Larry in the face. DOPEY DICKS (1950): 1) When Shemp tries to open the doorknob and bumps his head on the door, he accidentally hurts his eye. 2) When Shemp is fighting with the professor in the bedroom, he calls out "Moe! Larry! MARY!" Sounds like Shemp either meant to say Moe or Larry again, because there is no Mary in the short (the name of Christine McIntyre's character is never actually said in the short, and according to IMDB and Bill Telfer, her character's name in the script was Louise).

LOVE AT FIRST BITE (1950): 1) Katrina slipped on the wet floor during the dancing scene so why didn't she slip on the wet floor when she was helping Moe up? 2) After Shemp bounces back up off the floor and unintentionally punches Moe and Larry, something jumps in the background. 2) When Moe has the gum stuck on his ear, the camera cuts to a closer shot of him and suddenly, the gum is off his ear and now stuck on his hands. 3) When the Stooges begin dusting each other off, Shemp has his back to Moe, then the camera cuts over to a closer shot of Moe and Shemp and Shemp is suddenly facing Moe.

SELF MADE MAIDS (1950): 1) When the Stooges are skipping towards the door, Moe's heel accidentally slips and he goes sliding into the next room and trips over a bed. Moe ended up hitting his head on the bed leg and knocking self out. The next day, he showed back up to work on crutches. 2) When Moe opens the door and hits Shemp and Larry with it, Moe hurts is arm bumping into the wall. 3) Similar to HOLD THAT LION!: when Moe tries to hit Larry on the head without looking, he accidentally hits Larry in the eye. 4) You can hear ringing noises in the background when the father is running around in circles. 5) When Larraine says, "Just to you dear," she's (he's) really saying "Only to you dear."

STUDIO STOOPS (1950): 1) When the elevator that Larry and Dapper Malone get into a fight inside opens, you can see a waving shadow of some sort on the wall of the elevator, then it's gone in the next shot (the director must've noticed the moving shadow). 2) When Shemp throws sand in Louie's (played by Joe Palma) face, Palma's reaction is delayed by a second. 3) Also, for the goof about Larry and Dapper Malone fighting in the elevator, please change the name "Dapper Malone" to "Dandy Dawson". I was thinking of Kenneth MacDonald's character in CRIME ON THEIR HANDS when I originally put that.

A SNITCH IN TIME (1950): 1) After the bird spits in Shemp's eye, Shemp really can't see where he's going and he accidentally bumps into Moe, knocking Moe into a paint can. 2) A cut when Larry begins painting the table, in the next shot, it's painted more than it was in the previous shot. 3) Was Moe supposed to trip over that duffel bag when he was headed towards the drapes, and was Shemp supposed to trip over it when he and Larry realized the robbers were right behind them? 4) When Shemp throws the iron at Moe, you can see Moe about to block. In the next shot, he's not trying to block it anymore. 5) For some strange reason, in the part where the cops open the door on Shemp, they dubbed in Shemp's groans from SLAPHAPPY SLEUTHS. Why'd they do that? It didn't even fit the scene. Some sort of dubbing error? 6) Please delete the goof about Shemp's groan when the cops open the door on him.

THREE ARABIAN NUTS (1950): 1) At the beginning, when Moe tells Shemp to put the box up, he's standing with his side facing Shemp, but in the next shot, the front of his body is facing Shemp all of a sudden. 2) As Larry is walking around with the lamp, in the room behind him, you can see the shadow of someone standing still. It might've been Shemp, standing there and waiting for his cue for when to come on camera a few seconds later. 3) When Moe is yelling for help as he's running away from one of the Arabs, he yells his own name by accident.

BABY SITTERS JITTERS (1951): 1) When the camera shows a close-up of Moe when Shemp is putting a bib on the baby at the beginning, Moe has a mean look on his face, but he's smiling in the shot after. 2) Was Junior supposed to squirt himself in the eye with his juice? 3) After the baby bites Larry's finger, Larry cries "Ya bit me" then he looks off-screen in surprise but it cuts to the next scene before we see that he was looking at. 4) After Shemp does the handstand the second time, he gets up from the floor and you can see a clock sticking out of his suit, but we weren't supposed to see it yet. 5) When it cuts to Shemp peeking through the keyhole, the dust on his face, which he had in the shot before, is gone. 6) When Shemp and the father are fighting, the baby starts crying, but when Shemp walks up to the baby, we still hear it crying even though it isn't anymore.

DON'T THROW THAT KNIFE (1951): 1) After Larry kicks the husband on the floor, Larry steps on him and accidentally trips off of him when getting off. 2) Right before Larry, inside the television set, stabs the husband in the behind, in the background of the next room, you can see a strange flash. 3) When the husband picks up the "chair," it's obvious they used a real chair for that shot. 4) When Moe messes up Shemp's hair and makes it cover his eyes, Shemp is supposed to say "Where is everybody???" but Moe says the line instead for some reason, making it look weird.

MERRY MAVERICKS (1951): 1) In the part where Larry hides inside of a room, outside of the room, we hear Larry yelling along with Moe and Shemp, but how could he if he's inside the room? 2) As Shemp begins his "little brother this high" routine, Moe is holding his arms up (because a gun is pointed at the Stooges). Then the camera cuts to a closer shot of the Stooges and Moe's arms are suddenly to his side. Then the camera cuts back to a farther shot, and Moe's arms are suddenly raised back up again.

THE TOOTH WILL OUT (1951): 1) When Shemp whispers, "George Washington" to Moe and Larry, the dentistry boss is looking at him, but he was looking elsewhere in the previous shot. 2) Larry walks in w/ Moe and Shemp and is wearing 3 hats. Look closely when the cowboy tough guy walks in and you could see that there is only one hat hanging on the perch. [thanks to Laura LVC for this one] 3) When Shemp says, "Okay, let's see what's next" and walks over toward the table, he trips over something. 4) The second half of this short was originally shot for MERRY MAVERICKS, but used for this short instead. However, there's an error. In the first half which is new, all the Stooges earn a dentistry diploma, but when the reused footage comes in, Shemp is the only one who's the dentist, and he even says that he payed 4 bits to get his diploma (which also did not happen in the first half). 5) When the second patient (played by Dick Curtis) is on the chair snoring, during one part, it looks like Curtis is going to crack up because he has this smile on his face while he's supposed to be pretending to be asleep.

HULA-LA-LA (1951): 1) When the Stooges see Varulu's head collection, we hear Moe yelling yet his mouth doesn't even move. 2) At the end when Shemp is dancing near the boiling pot, he almost accidentally steps in the fire and burns himself, so he moves away from the pot and continues dancing. That was hilarious.

LISTEN, JUDGE (1952): 1) When Moe hits Larry and Shemp with a stick of wood, Larry cuts his hand on something. 2) While Shemp is pounding flour on the turkey, you can hear somebody laugh in the background. 3) When Shemp sprays icing on Moe's face, we see Shemp and Larry jump and Larry isn't holding the cake down, yet the cake doesn't float in the air.

CORNY CASANOVAS (1952): 1) After Moe pushes Larry into the bed, we hear Larry say "Stupid ol' buzzard" but he's really only saying "buzzard". 2) Similar to SLIPPERY SILKS (1936), you can see a board in the backside of Moe's pants when Shemp and Larry are pulling the tacks out of his behind. 3) When Moe says, "Ready, Aim, Fire!", he's really saying something else. 4) Shemp tells the lady to close her eyes, then he puts the ring on his finger, then it cuts to Shemp bringing the lady over to the couch, but we never see her open her eyes. 5) There must've a cut when Larry is hitting Moe with the shovel repeatedly, since Larry slows down all of a sudden only after a few hits. They probably cut some of Larry's hits out to save time. 6) When Larry grumbles "Fix a bed...", his mouth isn't moving at all. 7) When Moe hits Shemp on the head with the hammer, the hammer looks completely different from the hammer used in the shot before.

GENTS IN A JAM (1952): 1) One of the middle scenes shows Shemp pouring flour, milk and eggs together, but does not show him whisking or beating them. He then causes the concoction to fly across the room and land on Moe's head, and the very next scene shows Moe wiping fully developed dough from his face. 2) When Moe crashes off-camera after Shemp and Larry's attempt to free him from the trunk, the camera cuts over to Moe with a pile of furniture on him and after he groans, you can hear someone off-screen say "Boys!", then Shemp and Larry run on camera. The "Boys!" was probably the director cueing Shemp and Larry.

THREE DARK HORSES (1952): 1) One part of the opening theme song is accidentally played twice, causing the music to overlap with the opening scene. 2) Did Moe goof when he said, "Vote for that Ham...uh...Hammond Egger"? 2) Did anybody notice that Shemp left the bathtub running? I'm guessing if he did it purposely, there was supposed to be a gag later in the short about it, but there isn't. 3) When Shemp pokes himself in the eye with the spoon the second time, some coffee accidentally gets into his eye, but he makes a good ad-lib: "I got a hot eye! I heard of hot feet, but never a hot eye!" 4) When Shemp and Larry applaud Moe during his nomination speech, Shemp accidentally knocks over a coffee cup. 5) The confetti on Larry's face disappears in the next shot. 6) After Larry says to Moe "A razor blade", Larry does something with his hand but it cuts to the next scene before we see what Larry was doing. 7) While Larry is stuffing the turkey with crackers, Shemp messes up Moe's hair, but when they see the turkey walking, Shemp's hair is neat all of a sudden.

Afterwards, Kennedy just stands there for a few seconds before he realizes that he's supposed to be hurt, then he suddenly holds his hand in pain.

TRICKY DICKS (1953): 1) When Moe gets his tie shot off, he's wearing a jacket, but he wasn't wearing it in the shots before and after. 2) You can see a string on the monkey when it gets blown out of the trashcan. 3) The file cabinet scene is reused from HOLD THAT LION. In the new footage, the cabinets are supposed to be to the left, near B.A. Copper's door, but in the reused footage, the Stooges look in the opposite direction after a new shot of B.A. telling them he had the file all along.

SPOOKS! (1953): 1) On the sign on the door, there's no apostrophe in "Don't". 2) When Moe is telling Shemp to look through the window (so he can kick him inside the house), Moe says "There's nothing in there to get scared..." then he stops right there and forgets to say "...of". The editors obviously caught this, because they dubbed in Moe saying "of" at the end of that sentence. 3) When Larry bops Shemp on the head, Larry hurts his hand. 4) Near the end, when the camera shows Dr. Jekyll pointing a needle to the camera (really pointing it to Shemp and Ms. Bopper), that is really just an earlier shot where the doctor pointed the needle in Congo the Gorilla's face. Reshowing that was unnecessary, especially since in that shot he's wearing glasses, but he's not wearing glasses before or after that scene. 5) Shemp's hair pattern changes after he says, "There's something fishy going on here." 6) When Larry says "The Door, open it Moe" his lips aren't moving.

RIP, SEW AND STITCH (1953): There are shots of Shemp with very mussed hair, followed closely with shots of him with his hair slicked back neatly. OF CASH AND HASH (1955): 1) After the customer tells Larry his order, Larry walks away and nearly misses his cue to tell Shemp the customer's food order. You can even hear him mutter "Oh, I forgot", to himself when he realizes. 2) This film has footage edited in from SHIVERING SHERLOCKS (1948), and in one of the reused scenes, Moe and Larry walk out of the room they're hiding in and you can hear Moe asking "Shemp, is that you in there?" but Moe's lips aren't moving, nor is he standing by the door that Shemp is in. This must've been an editing mistake because in the original, Moe and Larry walk up to the door and then Moe asks, "Hey, Shemp is that you in there?" 3) Also in another scene edited in from SHIVERING SHERLOCKS, Angel yanks off Moe and Larry's jackets when they run away, but in one of the new scenes after this one, Moe and Larry suddenly have their jackets on! The editors should've noticed this. 4) In another reused scene from SHIVERING SHERLOCKS where Lefty and his assistant see the Stooges' article in the newspaper, the assistant asks Lefty "How are we gonna find them?" Yet in a new scene that was added in just before this one, he was at the Stooges cafe, so he should've known where to find them.

Then the camera cuts to a closer shot of Moe and Larry, then Moe says the line and also, his hair looks neater than it did in the previous shot. 3) A remake of HOKUS POKUS, and new footage is inserted explaning that Svengarlic and his assistant are safecrackers and are using the Stooges as disposable dupes. But in a later reused scene from HOKUS when Svengarlic gets knocked out, Sven's assistant says "The boys are up on the flagpole!" The assistant's genuine concern for the Stooges stuck on the flagpole made more sense in the original version where he and Svengarlic were actually innocent and just using the Stooges as hypnotism subjects.

RUMPUS IN THE HAREM (1956): 1) After Moe spills water on Larry's face, Larry spits out the water from his mouth, then he raises his arm, but in the next shot, his arm is still down, then he raises it again. 2) At the end, when Joe Palma (doubling for Shemp) jumps out the window, he yells "YIPEE!" but you can tell that's not Shemp because he sounds absolutely nothing like him.

How did Rorik get unlocked? 3) In one of the scenes reused from FUELIN' AROUND, Rork and the other two spies are talking about how they'll take the "professor" (who they think is Larry) over to Anemia, and in the original version, after Rork says "Yes, colonel", they show a scene with the Stooges laying carpet. But in this version, they cut out the carpet scene, so right when Rork says "Yes, c...", he abruptly gets cut off as it cuts over to the next scene (since in the original, the end of the "Yes, colonel" line overlapped with the dissolve to the carpet scene). Then a few seconds later in another reused scene where Rork and the spies are talking about how they'll take Moe and Shemp's along with the "professor", this version cuts out a small part where one of the spies points a gun at the Stooges and Rork tells him to put the gun away, but you can still see the spy point the gun right before it cuts to the next scene.

Moe seems distracted by it. 8) You can see the face of Moe's double at the end.

This guy is nuts!" Seems like Joe's the nutty one since he was supposed to say, "Sunny side DOWN, don't turn 'em OVER?" 2) When Hookup pushes Larry away, Larry has his hat on, but in the next shot, Larry's hat is off. 3) Near the end of the flashback when Moe is chasing Larry and Joe with an axe, Moe had to stop for a second because the charcoal he's covered with accidentally got into his eyes.

How about that?" his lips aren't moving. 2) After the Grand Zilch of Sunev orders the High Mucky Muck to show the Stooges to their ladies, it cuts to the next shot, and the Mucky Muck is at the end of saying a sentence. 3) When Mucky Muck says, "We do not drink water", his hands are empty, but he had a fork in his right hand in the previous shot. 4) At the end after the Stooges jump out the window, as the scene fades out you can see one of the boys' shadow outside the window. 5) When Larry is mumbling while trying to explain to Moe that the goon is standing behind him, some of his mumbles don't match his actual mouth movements. 6) When Moe ties the wire around Larry's neck and says "Don't go away!", Larry is then supposed to freeze in position, but he freezes too early before Moe even says the line.

QUIZ WHIZZ (1958): 1) When Joe says to Moe "I oughta give you the hotface!_ Joe gets something caught in his eye. 2) Towards the end of the episode, when Joe is drinking from a liquor bottle and Moe rips off his pants, Joe looks but he briefly chokes on his drink before he says his next line. 3) At the end of the film, the Stooges are trying to paste the torn check pieces together. When Joe licks his hand and slaps that hand on his torn piece of the check, some spit flies into Larry's eye right before the scene fades out to the ending title card!

PIES AND GUYS (1958): 1) When Emil Sitka as the butler brings the Stooges to inside the house, he says to the two professors "Pardon me, gen....uh, professor, the plumbers are here". It sounds like Emil almost said "gentlemen", probably because he said it so many other times in Stooge shorts. 2) After Larry says "There hasn't been a gentleman in our family in 50 generations!", Moe is supposed to respond "Quit braggin'!", but he pauses for a brief period and just looks at Larry with a mean expression before he remembers his line. 3) Towards the end, Professor Cedelitz takes off his glasses for no apparent reason, then he gets hit in the face with a pie. Him removing his glasses clearly gave it away that he was about to get hit; why else would he have taken off his glasses out of the blue like that?

SWEET AND HOT (1958): 1) When the doctor's (Moe's) head backs into Larry's head, Larry's eye gets hurt. 2) At the end, when Tiny pushes Larry in the garbage can, Larry"s leg accidentally gets caught on Tiny's dress.

FLYING SAUCER DAFFY (1958): 1) Joe says "Somethin' spoiled my snapshot!" and throws his picture to the ground, Moe and Larry laugh at him, but in the next shot, they're not smiling. 2) When Moe says, "Hey, Larry, look at this," his lips aren't moving. 3) In the scene where Emil Sitka (as the magazine president) gives Moe and Larry $5000 in a wheelbarrow, Larry runs off with the money, and Moe yells "Hey, come back you weasel!" and starts to run after Larry, but he accidentally trips on something before getting off-screen. This is even funnier when Emil Sitka, who was talking into the microphone while Larry and Moe were drooling at the money, stuttered and said "Excuse me, folks" to the microphone when Moe tripped in front of him. 4) Before Joe even mentions that he brought a TV dinner, you can see Larry behind him taking the TV dinner package out of the grocery bag. Then the camera cuts to the next shot and Larry's hands are suddenly empty, then Joe mentions the TV dinner, followed by Larry taking the TV dinner package out of the grocery bag again.

OIL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL (1958): 1) When Joe was supposed to say, "He steals from everybody," he forgets his line and Moe says it for him. 2) When Joe and Larry are trying to get milk from the cow, just after Larry gets that can of flour on his head, Moe looks at them, shakes his head, and begins to walk over to the cow. As he does, he has his usual gag haircut. But when he gets to the cow, his bangs are gone! [thanks to Angie for this one, I also noticed that Larry's haircut is shorter in some of the cabin scenes, like Moe's] 3) When Joe says, "That was better than the first thought," he's really saying something else. 4) When Moe says, "Why, you! You wrecked my pajamas!" his lips aren't moving. 5) When Moe throws the rope up to Joe, it gets caught on Larry's ear. 6) At the end of this film, there is some footage edited in from OILY TO BED, OILY TO RISE (1939). And in one of the new scenes after Joe accidentally stops the oil from flowing, Moe says "Shake hands with a pauper" to Larry and they shake hands. I find that part very silly that they would shake hands just because they're poor, but they did that so they would match the next scene, which was reused from OILY TO BED, OILY TO RISE. However, after Larry and Moe shake hands, they stop and look surprisingly at Joe, but in the next shot, which is reused footage, they are still shaking hands, then they stop to look at Joe again (originally Curly)! They really goofed up there in the new footage. 7) After spraying Joe in the face with the cow's udders the second time, Moe accidentally sprays some milk in his own hand.

TRIPLE CROSSED (1958): 1) When Larry is walking to meet Moe's wife, Joe is hiding in the closet wearing a Santa Claus outfit, but if you look closely at who quickly peaks around the closet door and whistles, looks like Shemp to me. 2) When Moe fires the gun up the chimney at Joe, Joe's scream sounds an AWFUL lot like Shemp. (These are two VERY lazy and careless mistakes, and it is clear Columbia just didn't give a damn anymore.) [thanks to Nosehonk for these two] 3) In another reused footage goof, when Joe is sneaking over to hide under the bear rug, we hear a thud; apparently they left in the sound for Shemp's land on the ground from the original version.

SAPPY BULLFIGHTERS (1958): In the reused scene from WHAT'S THE MATADOR? (1942) where Curly is riding on the bull, Curly's woo-woo's are left in although we're supposed to think Joe's riding on the bull.

HAVE ROCKET, WILL TRAVEL (1959): 1) When the monkey jumps on the backs of Moe and Larry, you can hear Moe yell although his lips aren’t moving. 2) Like it’s been mentioned before, you can hear Curly’s woo-woos when the Stooges are climbing down the ladder in the rocket. 3) When the Stooges are yelling in the birdcage, their yells are dubbed in from a short with Shemp. You can even hear Shemp’s yelling along with Moe and Larry’s. 4) At the beginning of the dance scene toward the end, you can see Moe dancing with Dr. Ingrid, then it cuts to a different shot where Curly-Joe is carrying a plate with a slice of cake and behind him, you can see Moe standing and talking to a guest. Then it cuts back to the original shot and Moe is suddenly dancing again! He sure gets around! 5) After Larry gets kicked in the head during the dance sequence, that scene reverses itself afterwards. 6) After the previously mentioned scene, a lady and a man accidentally trip over Larry and fall to the ground. A second later, the same lady and man are shown sitting on a couch all of a sudden, then they get up to dance again.

THREE STOOGES MEET HERCULES (1962): 1) When King Odious is leading Diana to his chariot, Moe is standing in the background with his hands to his side. In the next shot, his arms are suddenly crossed. 2) When Odious throws the wine in Ulysses’ face, he obviously misses his face. 3) Right before the lady says to Moe, “Well, get busy, you know what to do” there’s a cut, and she looks as if she forgot her line. 4) After Curly-Joe (impersonating a galley slave leader) cracks his whip and yells “Sit down!!” to Odious, he’s about to say something else, but it gets cut off in the next shot. 5) When Moe’s supposed to yell, “That’s Cyclops!” he yells “skyclops” by mistake. 6) When the Cyclops picks up Moe, you can tell that it’s holding a doll. 7) When Achilles and his assistant open their jackets to show their knives to the boys, look in the background - the assistant accidentally opens up the wrong side of his jacket at first.
